Caedmon, there was no hypocrisy and there is NO comparison whatsoever, and you know it. I believe this is called deflection. This is when someone knows they're wrong but tries to deflect the argument towards someone else. By the way, in my earlier posting I said there was a fully clothed, consenting guest in my avatar photo. I bet no one even knew that because the picture is so small you can't see him. The person standing in the photo is a Water Sports employee raking the beach. The guest is in the distant background sitting on the edge of a lounge chair. And, even at that, I asked for his permission because I wanted to get a picture of the point.

You know what? This is not worth my time anymore. The intent and spirit of the "no photography" rule is to protect people's privacy and if no one is there, their privacy is not in jeopardy. What a member of your group did was to blatantly and selfishly disregard the privacy rights of everyone in the pool (and yes, I suspect that even some of the Amigos themselves are in sensitive positions and would never have consented to the pictures if they had been given the courtesy of being asked). This isn't about rules. It's about courtesy and respect. The rule exists for the people who don't show courtesy and respect and who need to be reminded to do so.

CandG....After reading your response to FaceDown, in all honesty, we aren't very far apart in our personal viewpoints on this matter. The difference is that you see the 3 photos in this picture as bad because of the precedent they set for future picturetakers, and I see your profile pic as a picture that sets a bad precedent. Not that you offended anyone or violated anyones privacy, but when people think it's okay to take pictures sometimes, then the debate of "when is it ok" comes into play. That's a much more complicated set of standards to agree upon. So much more complicated that I don't actually think it can be done. There are too many interpretations of morals, violations, and levels of expected privacy involved to come up with rules that are fair or agreeable to everybody. The only way to be consistant and fair to all guests is to allow it, or don't allow it. Apperantly SuperClubs agrees, since the rule they put it place is a cut and dry...No Photography Allowed. (with no stipulations).
Actually it's not complicated at all and I thought hkdilbert did an outstanding job of defining it. It is all about respect and, frankly, common sense. It has been widely accepted and well known among Hedo regulars for a long, long time that taking pictures on the nude side very early in the morning when no one is there is totally acceptable. Even the security guards will not bother you about it at that time.

Now hang on a gosh darn second. For starters lets not act like I took the pics, or that I am defending the person who took the pics. What exactly is it that you think I'm "deflecting" from? This conversation started because YOU said It's not ok...period. No matter who you are. You even refered to people who don't think the rules apply to them.
It was only after I pointed out that you had broken the rule yourself, that you come back with well it's ok sometimes. You've changed your position drastically. That's not called deflectionism, that's called doing a 180.
So a phrase was used that was not exactly what they meant -- we get it.
We all know what they meant, we all know the point many of us were trying to make...
Can we please call a truce on this one and get back to what is normally fun, friendly chatter??
OK...since I started this mess I insist all parties still going back and forth go to the liquor cabinet and pull out a bottle of Rum Creme and drink it the way god intended....off a body part!! I agree with Phillygirl, lets get back to the regularly scheduled program and talk bout fun, sun, booze and neekidness!
If you see a huge number of people in any one place you can bet there will be a camera or two anywhere and Hedo is no exception to that. Rules are there and like any set of rules some will bend them. That is life. If my life was such that I could not even think about being outed as being AT Hedo I would NOT GO. Old rule, DO NOT BE THERE. Rule two, if you see things happening that you can not be part of, leave. SO, cameras will be around and more of them the larger the number of ppl.
Be ready to enjoy the part of the pool area where there are a lot less people and thus the camera issue becomes mute. I was there, knew the camera(s) were around and had the option to leave the main pool area had I wished to. The mass of people was of more concern to me as well as the walk to the self serve drink station to get my diet and ice. This has gotten way out of hand for the issue here on the board in my humble OP.
All I can say is Wow! There are those of us( myself included) who could give a shit if someone caught my nakedness in a picture. I look at it that if someone stopped to look twice at a naked picture of me on the internet, it's not a disaster, it's a miracle.
Yet my wife's head would pop off if she thought someone was taking a picture of her nakid. Everyone is going to have distinct views on the subject, and I doubt post discussions are going to change that. I know I would not take a picture on the nude side, and that's all I really concern myself with. Iwould take a picture of the Hedo empty beach though. I'm fairly confident I would not be jepordizing my career or reputation for doing so, unless I could be called out for going someplace with a very small beach.
In defense of Face DowN, I think everyone can agree what hwer intent was. One thing for sure, we might all disagree about whether we would like to have been in those pictures, but I think we would all agree we would have liked to be in that pool.
