C/O side camera use - beware

During the foam party, we noticed lots of people lined up along the top railing looking down over the foam party below. At least one person had their phone over the railing capturing it all. He was trying to be discreet by partially covering his phone with a towel, but we could clearly tell what he was doing. When I pointed him out to others, he eased his phone under the towel. Then he took it back out when he thought no one was watching him.

I reported it to security and management, and I asked them to send security up to the railing area above the foam party to make sure no one was filming. They initially told me they couldn't do that because there isn't a camera restriction on the clothing optional side. Then they said if I could find the person and identify him to them, they would ask him for his phone and review any pictures or videos. Eventually, they told me they depend on the guests to be mindful of their cameras and make sure no one is in the background of any pictures they are taking. There was further discussion, but we never saw any changes to prevent or deter people from filming people participating in the foam party (at least not that night).

So long story short - beware if you participate in the foam party and are sensitive to strangers filming you without consent.

Hedo's own web site states that photos are only allowed in your room.
Security should have been all over it.

Sounds like security is performing to its usual standard...consistently inconsistent. They really need to get a handle on this! :rockon:

It's an issue all over the resort with tablets, E readers and such, it's actually sad that people can't respect others at a place where we all let go... I could not imagine being filmed or a picture taken and then posted on line...

Hedo needs to get a grip with the security so everything is the same across the board..

I can see this only getting worse with resort wide free internet access. It is the one thing I am dreading about my upcoming trip is looking around the diningroom and everyplace else on c/o side and seeing everyone staring at their devices. It was one of the many great things about Hedo I loved was being totally aware of your surroundings and not distracted by devices. Put the devices down and look at the sexy people there around you instead!!

And store in your spank bank, NOT your devices memory!!!

Although....I just realized I am def not a newbie anymore. I kinda sound like when the vets bitched when TV's were first put onto the resort and how that would take away from socializing. lol

However, the TVs did not take someone's photo or video and immediately save it to the cloud or place it on the internet. The digital devices are far more of an addiction than TVs ever were. :rockon:

Exactly...well put.... We have kids that are 28-21 years old I could only imagine the look on their face when they see a pic of us or one of our friends from a website they came across... Not a way I would like to explain ourselves.

Where was the foam party being held? I'm trying to picture where "the top railing looking down" would be located and all I can think of is the bridge from the upper level to the beach.

We enjoyed having wifi in the room while we were there. We used FaceTime to check in with family in the mornings, and used it in the evenings to listen to iHeart radio while we were getting dressed for dinner. Otherwise, we kept the electronics locked in the safe and stayed unplugged the rest of the day and night. Just our preference - makes for a more relaxing vacation for us. We did see a lot more people last trip with electronic devices in the dining room and all over the resort. There were even people using e-devices near the pools and on the pool deck. One day-pass single male was obviously using his phone to take pictures of nude guests without consent, and one of the ECs told him to put it away. He ignored them, and the EC sent security over. They told him the same thing - put it away, not allowed. I never saw them take the phone, look at the pictures, or make him delete anything. They just basically told him to stop.

The foam party is now held on the old ice skating rink behind the disco. You can overlook the foam party if you stand along the railing surrounding the main pool upper deck (roof of disco where the white wicker chairs are).

We are kidding us to believe everyone has respect. This smart phone/social media post everything craze is rampant. C/o side has always had descreet photo ops w respect to others in you photo's. Any idea of approx. age of the offending camera person? Most repeaters I see are over 40 or more and I'd like to think beyond this type of behavior. Then again I'm one who never understood strip clubs- pay money to see what I can't touch? Same stupidity here cheap thrill filming what? Seems it's a situation where a few old dudes need to have a talk w/ someone and explain what respect means.
