About Vicar_of_Bray
I began nude hiking on the central California coast, in the 1970s, and went to my first nude beach in the 90s (Wreck Beach, Vancouver, Canada). I love traveling and always research the nude activities available at my destinations. My primary source has been ‘World Guide to Nude Beaches and Resorts’ by Lee Baxandale. But that’s now over 20 years old and I can’t find any updated information source.

I thought that, as time went by, society would be more acceptable to public nudity in certain areas. But I find the opposite to be true. I keep hearing in he news of communities, fighting to ban public nudity in all areas in their region. I often hear of authorities cracking down on nudity at beaches, parks, and forests, and so many being prosecuted for public nudity. More information on nude areas come with warnings. So information of nude areas is decreasing.

This summer I’ll be in Skagway, Alaska, then Honolulu, Hawaii, next winter. All I can find is that nudity is illegal in both states. All information on beaches in Hawaii come with the warning to be prepared to cover up, in case a sheriff or park ranger comes around. For summer of next year, I plan to hike around Banff, Canada, then Key West in the following winter. I find plenty of useful info on Key West but none on Banff. I’m also considering northern Wisconsin, the Twin Cities, Memphis, Dallas, British Virgin Islands, Sedona, Ukiah, several cities of Ohio and Michigan, Mt Shasta, Jackson Hole, Vieques Island of Puerto Rico, Tweedmuir Provincial Park in Canada, among others. If our schedules intersect, we might do something together. I always travel alone.
