Hi all,
Thanks to the board here as we were able to post and read all about our trip beforehand. We had a bunch of concerns prior to our trip, but.....really none of them were an issue. The place, the people, all were great!
Prior to the trip we read about what to bring, what to wear, how to get to and from resort, etc. Based on that we used Club Mobay and that was a big help. To be honest, when we arrived the airport was quiet and we probably didn't need the Club Mobay, but it was still nice to go grab our ride without any hassles at the airport. Coming home though, on a Sunday, the airport was packed! Club Mobay saved us time and instead of long lines and sweating in the airport, we relaxed nicely in their lounge. Well worth it, and a must do in our opinion. Also, from the site advice, we used Rockys tours...they were great, both drivers to and from resort were wonderful. They told stories of their home, and if you wanted to stop somewhere (we didn't) they would gladly get you to where you wanted to go. we highly recommend Rocky's for your transports.
Once we got to Hedo, the check in process was a breeze, we were able to get into our room early, which was great....We had a ocean view prude side room (1215), nice room. no complaints about room at all. We enjoy walking and had no problem having to walk to the nude side to get to the nude pool. For us, that was a non issue, in fact, we actually liked the walk, so if we went back, we don't really see the need to be by the nude side pool. But, if you don't feel like walking and prefer to be near the "action", then a nude side room would definitely benefit you.
The food was fine. No problems at all. We have been to Temptation in Cancun and were expecting similar type food/drink options, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food/drink options. In our short trip we enjoyed the buffet, the Italian restaurant, Harry San's Hibachi and on Friday night they had a lobster night with grilled lobster out on the deck. Now, is it the best lobster we ever ate? No. Was it bad? Not at all, it was very nice. And the food at Hedo was far better than the food at Temptation, in our opinion. There were also more top shelf liquor options here than what we experienced at Temptation. We drink Tito's Vodka, and they had that, so we were fine there, lol.
Nightlife at Hedo is a lot of fun. We weren't sure about theme nights but were surprised at how many people were in costume. So, feel free to join in, we dressed and were happy we did, but if you don't want to, don't sweat it. The main dining area stage had a feel of a cruise ship environment....a bit cheesy, but thats nitpicking. It was fine. we sat and enjoyed the show before making it to the piano bar, or wherever the party was at night, or working our way back to the hot tubs which always had people around
The resort itself was very nice. There are so many areas to escape the craziness for alone time if you like. We would walk by these small pool areas and pool bed areas and say to each other how nice that is and how we should definitely hang out there, but then we would run back to the nude pool, lol. The beach area was set up nicely. The beach isnt as nice as the other beaches down the road off the 7 mile beach, but it is more than fine. We laid by the beach for a bit to get some full body sun. They have all the water activities should you look to do them, but we did not on our short stay. They have workers keeping the beach area and pool areas clean and they were always working. Really cant say enough at how hard the staff worked. They were terrific.
For the two of us, we are a lifestyle couple, but tend to be more mild than wild within the lifestyle, and we have been to a nude beach or two, but this was the first time we were going to be at a resort where we will be walking around and social and nude and we had the concerns that most people new to Hedo have. So, knowing this, our plan was, go to room, drop our bags, and get to the nude side pool to remove any worries, lol. And we did just that. And it was FINE.... There was no issues at all. please don't let the concern over walking around naked prevent you from coming to this great place. To anyone thinking of coming to Hedo, but holding back because of their concerns about being naked, please stop. Take it from us, its like no other place we have been. the people are great, and after a minute or two, you don't even notice that nobody has bathing suits on. It was a great time, a great place. We spent most of our days at the nude pool. Bring a mug or a drinking container. we use Bubba Mugs, they are great in that type of setting. Everyone at the pool is so inviting and nice. You are met with hellos and smiles. Nobody cares what you do, how much money you have. They are there to have fun, and so were we and we met some wonderful people. Newbies like us, and cagey veterans who come every year and even few people who spend more time at Hedo than they do at their real homes, lol. We did arrive mid week, and it seems like a lot of the people there come with groups and those groups tend to be a Saturday through Saturday groups, so if you can arrive on a Saturday, we think that makes it easier as by the time we arrived a lot of people were there together for 5 plus days and had bonded, became friends and seemed to have their own little circle. But, again, thats no issue as everyone is more than welcome to meet and make friends with new people, just be yourself, say hi and start talking. thats what we did. It was a sexy environment, lots of play if you are looking for it, but not in your face if you are not. We aren't into single guys and were curious how that would play out at Hedo, and we had no issues at all. We assume there were single men there while we were there, but there were no issues for us, and none that we witnessed while we were there, so we have to say that the single men there were so good, we didn't even notice them amongst the couples, which was great. We won't kiss and tell, but had a nice time while we were there and found ourselves wishing we booked a longer trip. We cant say enough about this wonderful resort and the people who make it great. Not only will we be back, but we think we may wind up making regular visits. Next time, a much longer trip. To those on the board and those who posted nice trip reports, thanks. You guys helped us book our trip. To those of you on the fence about booking, or booked and concerned, please don't be. Go be yourselves, have a blast, and enjoy. Do not stress it, it is really a great time with great people in a beautiful environment. Book and enjoy. A and L
