When SuperClubs owned Hedo they had different rates for Canadians and Europeans. Does the new ownership do the same? With the Canadian dollar being around $.72 U.S., the prices have to be getting high. Just curious.

Don't book direct! Book with a Canadian tour operator (Sunwind, AirTransat, Westjet etc.) and get flight, ground transport etc. Also if there is a snag, your T/A can fix it.
There are some interesting discounted packages to Hedo online right now -- with lowered air costs.

I think only Hedo management could tell us that for sure, but based on what I've seen I would think that they are still offering different rates. They used to check your passport to make sure you booked a rate that was that was designed for your country and make you pay the difference if not, not sure if they're still doing that.
The difference between the Canadian and US dollar is making a huge impact on our travel plans for this year. We were looking at pricing for a March or April trip, last year we paid C$1700 per person for a week (airfare, transfers, and accommodations), this year there's nothing under $2000, most dates are in the $2200-$2400 range. Unfortunately we're thinking of a trip to Cuba instead, seems to be not so affected by the dollar difference.
We definitely felt the bite of the weak dollar this year, but fell onto an unbelievable 10night stay, oceanfront prude for 4500 and change that's to my awesome travel agent Crystal/ That is April 12-22 from Halifax flying through Toronto. Packages for 7 nights direct from Nova Scotia are up around 4600 to 4800 right now. Last year we booked at 3500 for a week direct from Halifax

To add some perspective, We paid US$368/night for Garden View Regular in March last year through Tom's Trips. That same accommodation this year is US$386. An $18 increase per night. With the price increase, the strength of the currency seems to be exacerbating the issue.
OK...Back to Hedo thoughts..
Hi, we just returned last week, traveled Wednesday to Wednesday with Air Canada Vacations out of Winnipeg ,connecting in Toronto . The total cost was just under $3000.00 Canadian , we saved a little of that cost because we can take advantage of AC friend and family so a very good deal for us! We booked prude garden but were upgraded to nude garden at no cost. The resort itself was only at 60% capacity and they were offering this deal right up to a week or so before we left. Oh and the resort we thought was in great shape, improved since our last trip 2 years ago!
Before we left the resort last January we booked again with Tom's Trips, as they were guaranteeing that year's rates for the next year. They required a $200 (US) deposit to secure the reservation. When were arrived home we checked our Visa and with the exchange rate it came to $258 Cdn. The Canadian dollar had dropped 5% in the week we were away. Last August we decided to pay our balance before the dollar sank any lower. It came to an extra $1000 Cdn because of the exchange. We did manage to get a good deal with WestJet this year, about $400 less than last year, so that took a little bit of the sting out of it.

Which is the reason why it's really expensive for Canadians to book with a group. US$386 = C$538 at today's exchange rate; times seven nights = $3,766. Then you still have to add on your airfare ($1,000+ for a couple, depending where you're flying from), and your transfers. I guess a C$2,000 package price doesn't look too bad after all .
Yes, that definitely helps for sure. Glad to hear you guys had a great trip!
We like to book with US based travel groups and book our flights separately. Good thing we have already booked/paid for our April trip otherwise we would have booked thru a Canadian TA as their rates have not really fluctuated that much and are much lower. Strangely enough the JAD$ (To CAN$) is at the same level as 3 years ago; it's the strenght of the US$ that is at issue (climbing against the JA$ too) and US TA or thier suppliers not passing on the savings to everyone.
Cdn_Cpl and I had this discussion some months back, on here.
Well we have since walked away from out $200.00 deposit (from April of 2015) and booked through a Canadian travel wholesaler, throught FlightCenter.
At the end of the day we got a better price in beaver bucks, and a free upgrade by one tier. As well as saving about $400.00 (after deducting the $200.00 deposit) over what we would have paid going through our usual US group.
We had a good deal with the US TA, until the Canuck buck went into the sewer.
Westjet still doesn't want to play ball though with extending the dates to include the 3 free days, AC is OK though.
We booked air fare separately (caught a Westjet sale) and are paying the least we have ever paid to fly from YVR to MBJ or even SEA to MBJ.
2017 is going to be another story, but for sure we aren't going to book at the resort in 2016, for 2017, unless the price is in beaver bucks.
We did catch a couple of those Super Club "For Canadians" sale prices in the past though, that was nice.
Just got back from Cuba a few weeks ago. The resort prices, when booked from Canada, are great. But the Cuban paso follows the US dollar, so once you're
there, spending Canadian bucks comes at a $0.35 extra cost per buck.
