at the end of the day, u have to realise that there are going to be times in your life where u simply don't have control over any and all situations. doesn't mean that u have to be happy with everything, but u also must understand that there will be moments where u have to have the attitude "shit happens" and move on.

this is a business for these people in charge. there is no sense of "home" for them other than other places they choose to visit. as much as u may wish it to be, outside of the people working at these resorts that u have personal contact with on each trip, to all others u are nothing but a dollar in their pocket. they feel no allegiance to u nor your groups, tho they glady accept each of the payments they receive for each visit. it may sound crass, but i feel sorry for some of u and the reactions u exhibit..............it's not THAT important and shouldn't be THAT much of your lives where u're almost suicidal over this.

IT SUCKS! IT SUCKS! can't deny it. but as someone else already said, u are free to spend your dollars anywhere and anyway u see fit. if u are not happy with the organisation and the decisions that they make regarding III, i wouldn't blame u for seeking to take your business elsewhere. however, at the same time be cognisant of the fact that at least there is a viable option in II (where we go) because imagine then what it would be like if there wasn't the resort in negril as a fallback.

outside of the EC's, and cooks, and bartenders and room service folk that u get to know over the visits, the hedo experience is still dominated, imho, by the other people that are there enjoying themselves, and i don't think there's too much of a difference from runaway to negril in terms of guests. if whole groups decide to go to negril instead, are they not STILL doing the same things with the same people under the same circumstances and environment? yes, it sucks to not be able to go to the same place that u are used to, but again it's about the experience and not so much the locale, as long as the other locale is ANOTHER HEDO.

if i was to be pissed about anything in this entire ordeal it would be that they were STILL taking reservations long before they admitted to these changes, and i'm confident this wasn't some sort of spur of the moment thing. i would be pissed had i gone thru a lot of trouble making arrangements that are simply not doable elsewhere. but at the end of the day i feel confident that MOST (maybe not all) "refugees" going to II will love the experience as much as they have in the past, especially knowing there's pretty much nowhere else to go.

I've gone back and forth with whomever is in charge of the "Hedo Alterego" page on Facebook. They said it will still be an ADULT RESORT, 18+ with a clothing optional BEACH. UM, noone goes to the EFFIN BEACH THERE because the clothing optional beach side SUCKS ASS. Everyone goes to the POOL.
    They SUCK.

We love our Hedo trips for the friends we travel with each year, and the new friends we meet each year. We love the weather, the landscape, and the culture in Jamaica. We love the freedom and the party atmosphere that Hedo affords. We will have all of those things at Hedo 2. We will miss a few of the physical resort amenities, but we will take advantage of some of the new H2 options.

What we will miss the most about H3 is the staff who we have grown very close to over the years. That is what we mourn.

In the end, this is a business decision, and one that no amount of protesting is going to change. There is no productive outcome from getting worked up about it.

I am happy to still have the option of H2 and know that every-ting gonna' be Irie.

Exactly. We were just there this past weekend, and it amazed me (as usual) that I was greeted BY NAME by people who see me once a year.

i love the idea of trying to deal with the move by thinking that hedo 2 will suffice, but people do you have any idea what they can do to us now price wise, for some of us we will not be able to afford the alternitive, and i think we will all be crying when we see what the cost of the hedo-vibe is going to set ya back, i think the our best bet will be to try to find another place and hope that someone comes to their senses in the future and rebrands the rebranding

I can definitely appreciate the passion that Mr Irrelevant started this thread with.
In the long run, however, the consumer will rule the market.
If they fail occupancy wise the prices will come down. We need only to look at the nearly constant sales run by Superclubs both last spring and summer and this spring as they reacted to lower occupancies created ostensibly by the economy's downturn.
H2 is the only place like H3 that we have been able to find. Desire does not allow singles, and is not the same party vibe- not from first hand experience, but we have read here over and over. We have some single people who have travelled with us faithfully and I think it would be shitty to abandon them like that.
While it is intriguing to think we can "fight the man"- write letters of protest, make phone calls, boycott, what have you- fact is I get to spend very little time with my hedo people, and if we need to move to H2 to do that, well... so be it.
I fight enough battles day in and out- and frankly, while I do have a few complaints about H2- it is a damn sight better than many places I have been.
Rob hit the nail on the head. While it would be great to wish failure upon the new format, that would put many of our staff friends in a tenuous position employment wise and none of us want that. How those employees will adapt to the new crowd... well.. no idea.
Our options are still being looked at- who knows?
We still have this year's trip ahead of us... party on.

    Wow! What a day.
Hedo III closes, Hedo II raises rates 15-20% starting in January (when were planning to go back to Hedo III) Guess thats out...Super Clubs idea of a Super Duper Yipee Fun Resorts is different than ours.
It is a shame that there is no other resort with the same vibe as Hedo but what's done is done.
Hedo was always about the people we met there and I am sure this will hold true at Hedo II, we'll find out in January.
We will miss the staff at Hedo III when we go in January, they are the best!!!

I had been waiting for the email before I put my 2 cents in.....and yep Im bitter, one hell of a biter b!tch at that.

I will either go to Hedo3 as I usually do and they will have to put up with me and a BUNCH of others with me in all our glory! For one Im getting my rock...and if it mean I will make havoc the days I am there so be it, Im bitter and free to express that!

Change is ok, so take out some of the amenities, top shelf liquor, ok I can deal with that. Airport trasfers...ummm and no link on HOW to go about doing that (Desire tells you) Them changing just about everything is really going to sink them in the hole even more.

    OR

I will NOT go to any of their resorts.

OK so what about us who have already bought and paid for October vacation to be there AFTER they reopen.......
When I made my reservations I made them for Hedo3, not my fault they decided to close and reopen as SuperStupid Fun Resort (I really like that name). I dont want to go to H2, if I wanted to I would have booked with them in the 1st place. So I guess it boils down to SuperStupid Clubs owes me the cost of my room at H3 (since H3 doesnt exist anymore) and the cost of my airline tickets...because there is no other place in Jamaica I want to go.

Moving is not an option for US....wont impact SuperStupid Clubs that way!
We are helping super clubs by moving over to H2 they are keeping our money and loyalty, something is wrong with that!!! They are being rewarded for closing H3.

As for their employee's...I love them....wouldnt want anyone to lose their jobs. Serena saved my "whole f*cking family" But that is SuperStupid Clubs fault, not mine.

ok Im done venting.....for now. thanks for listening!

I OUR opinion, having been to both resorts more than once, Hedo 3's staff could teach Hedo 2's folks some lessons...

I would agree.. This is one of the reasons Apple Vacations rated H3 higher... At least in the last Apple Vacations guide I looked at... My only hope is that H2 will now become more user friendly to the Hedo experience. In other words make the whole resort nude instead of a prude area.

Folks- we as consumers ought to have a little more influence than this. I see some of the disappointment in the comments that many have posted, but am I alone in being the only one who wants to protest this stupid move and take my repeat business elsewhere?

Does anyone on this forum believe for a second that StupidClubs is going to get more than 50% capacity at a SuperDuperFun resort that promises absolutely NO FUN?
Please forgive me for saying this, but you're "pissing in the wind". They simply cannot operate two separate and essentially identical resorts (in terms of theme anyway) in the same general geographic area, each at under 50% average occupancy. It makes no business sense whatsoever. These resorts may be "home" to us but to Superclubs they are businesses, and this is as it should be tom them. I will admit that I am an H2 person and if it was H2 that was closing I would be just as distraught as everyone here is. But, the way I look at it, this move solidifies H2's position in the market and assures all of us that there will be a Hedo for the indefinite future because it will be profitable and the occupancy rate will justify its continued existence. It may not be the Hedo that most of you would prefer, but it is a real Hedo and not some poor imitation of one in Mexico or someplace else. After the sting wears off, I think we should all be happy that there continues to be a place we can go to enjoy the unique kind of vacation that we all want. Just my opinion...
