MY ROCK!!!!!!!!! What will happen to it? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I'm surprised you're all just making light of this, just joking away. It seems if Hedo II closed we, over there, would be tripping out.

We can also confirm the news that H3 will close for renovations and rebranding on August 22 and reopen in time for Halloween.
No firm information yet on what the resort will reopen as.
What I can tell you is that Cocktails International will proudly throw an Epic, week long, going away party during the last week of July for the resort we all love.
Once we know more we will decide what to do next year, but if we have to grab our 100+ friends and head over to H2 in 2011, they better make sure that H2 can handle us

I don't think its that we are joking but just trying to make the best of a really bad situation. Trust us we are all devastated over this but there really is nothing we can do about it. As well as H2 to people love there resort us regular H3 people love ours. We all very much look forward to going back HOME to have fun and meet up with friends. So it may seem to you we are joking but we have no other choice and this a way to release that aggravation.

This is a quote from dennyp.com if it helps at all....
Quote:
From SuperClubs management:
"As of Sunday, August 22, 2010 Hedonism III will close down for seven weeks. The resort will re-open for arrivals on Thursday, October 14, 2010.
All effected reservations will be transferred to Hedonism II automatically. Guests will be accommodated in a similar or higher room category.
Guests not wishing to be upgraded to Hedonism II may cancel their reservations without penalty.
Additional details of the resort update will be made available when we visit with you at JAPEX."
JAPEX is the Jamaican Product Exchange held May 11-13. That is all that I can confirm at this time. When I find out more I will post it.
End of quote...
i couldn't agree more. it's not like anyone has any say in the matter. those in power will do what they will do, and all the bitchin' and frettin' won't change an iota of anything.
what would i do if it was II instead of III? i dunno, but i know i enjoyed jamaica long before i discovered hedo. i probably would be more pragmatic and interested in financial matters than anything else regarding the closing of the resort and our deposits, etc.
i'm hoping that maybe the closing of III might mean that more attention will be made in improving things over there at II. and maybe, just maybe, yes, this "experiment" will be repealed and III will rise up from the ashes again.
On behalf of myself and the entire Hedo Amigos I would like to apoligize as I cant help but believe we were the cause of all this. Yes I am sure that they enjoyed the 95% occupancy rate, but the timing indicates that they just got the bar bill for the week and decided that running H3 did not make financial sense. We all thought it was funny the last night we were there that we drank them out of Red Stripe, Rum Creme and most major brands (that is a fact) but now I see the error in our ways. We promise never to do it again until next year when we are in our new home away from home.....Hedo 2!!!!!
While it is clear they will be closing for renovations, there is no confirmation yet on a rebranding. Superclubs has just gone through a massive rebranding process, where they renamed the Lidos and Starfish all to Breezes resorts. The goal, as I understood, was to avoid having so many brands, since it cost too much to advertise Breezes and the Lidos and find some room for Starfish. Now Superclubs has only three brands: Breezes, Hedonism, and Rooms. I find it hard to believe that, after all of that effort they would create a new brand and start over with more brands again.
I would think there are really these possibilities:
1. Rebranded to Breezes. Does not seem likely, since they are next door to a Breezes already.
2. Rebranded because the resort is sold. Sadly, this seems more likely, but that would leave them with only one Hedonism in that brand. But, it can probably stand alone.
3. Reopened as Hedonism III after a refurbish. Maybe I'm an optimist, but this seems the most likely to me.
I'm just glad we're heading to H3 in 24 days, so I know for sure it will be there then.
Part of a blurb I found here: http://www.travelagentcentral.com/be...ubs-rebranding
"Hedonism Resorts, which are two adults-only resorts in Jamaica, will remain unchanged. They will have a newer, fresher brand presence in late 2009/early 2010. With the removal of “SuperClubs” from the public eye, Hedonism Resorts will disassociate from other SuperClubs brands."
Maybe they're just late getting to the changes.
