No not yet..But we are leaving from the Isle of Man heading to Houston via Manchester and Heathrow in 3 weeks time for a cruise and I am praying to God that it is all cleared by then..insurance companies are using the Act of God clause to get out of paying out on any claims!!!
Our local airport has been shut for 3 days now...
Could taste it in the air today as well..very gritty..but the skies were all clear so it is quite strange...
MeShell, Hopefully all of this will have cleared up long before your trip to Houston. I had not even thought about the "act of God" clause. If insurance does not honor this it is a double hit. Premiums paid for nothing and possibly unrefundable deposits for those who cannot travel.

I don't think that it will effect us going to Hedo. But it may affect me getting home from Singapore. . I know that we are having problems getting some of the crew from the U.K. here. The airport here is full of stranded travelers too.
Right now nothing is going in or out of the UK..and also several of the EU countries as well. The cloud is just hovering over us.
Once it does clear and planes are allowed to fly the backlog of passengers will be immense. Sky news here said it could take up to 2 weeks to clear the jam of back passengers of the ones that still need to fly.
Some of our food for the stores here on the island is brought in by flights. I am going in a bit to stock up on some items that may get a bit scarce.....lucky the majority of items are brought in by ferry which can run as it has no effect on them.
Maybe we will get lucky and get stuck at Hedo for an extra week or so! LOL
I work at Heathrow, place is usually so fast paced and completley nuts but at the moment nothing happening, so creepy! Despite information offered poeple keep turning up only to be turned away. Hubby is a black cabbie so with the airport business down trade very slow.
How I wish right now I was in good old Jamaica and stuck there!!
All flights are grounded here today because of the ash .... hopefully it will be gone by 5:00am on Friday!
It was in the UK news today that it was heading towards the East Coast of the US...
I hope it doesn't start that way either...cause I have to fly that way as well..To head to Houston the fly over and then head down the East coast of the US...we are suppose to get some rain soon and I am hoping it will clear out some of the ash...
Here is an interesting site with images of the recent effects:
