We always leave our bags at the superclubs check-in and they put tHem on the shuttle for us. My husband does keep an I on them tho to make sure they get on ok. We tip both the guy and driver each $5. We figure those bags get pretty heavy after awhile and they really do work so hard. I am a hairdresser and live on tips myself but they work a whole hell of alot harder than I do and they deserve it. Not to say I don't work hard but lugging luggage all day in that heat just to get a tip. THEY DESERVE IT!
    So do whatever it takes

Thanks for all the help everyone. We're going to book June 5-12th at Hedo II. It looks like we'll be flying Delta out of Pittsburgh.

    Booking on Superclubs Site

We booked in October for a November 2009 trip on the Superclubs website. We did have trouble finishing the purchase. It was the last day for a "buy 3 get 1 free" promotion. Ended up finishing the room and flight purchase through the Super Clubs toll free number with absolutly no problems and the price was better than all quotes from TAs and websites like Expedia/Travelocity etc. I would have no problem with booking through the website or the Super Clubs toll free number again for room and flights (and the operator had the most lovely Jamaican accent I felt like I had already begun my vacation!).

When we went 10 years ago, we had to pay some small fee to be able to leave Jamacia. I can't remember how much it was, or even if you still have to pay it. Does anyone know?

There is a small departure tax, but as I recall it is now a part of either your resort package or your airfare- it is no longer a seperate charge. I remember what you are talking about from our first trip- we had to pay it prior to getting on the bus to the airport as I recall. Nick (and the naughty nurse Kitty)tm

There is still a $27 departure tax when you leave Jamaica. Most airlines include it in the airfare total. It is a good idea to check/ask to make sure. If it is not, the fee must be paid in cash only.

Last year Valentine's Week at Hedo II was the most fun I've ever had.
This year will be our first trip to Hedo III April 23 - May 1 2010.

Keep a tight grip on it and keep moving and you can carry it to the bus yourself. HOWEVER - the driver or helper will be the ones to load the big suitcases through a rear door or window of the bus into the back of the bus that is used as a luggage storage area (not a separate cargo compartment underneath like in a large US/EU motorcoach).

Those guys will be hoping for a tip but this can be included in the driver's tip IMHO. But if you let go of your suitcase outdoors at the airport for even one second, yeah someone will grab it who will want a tip for wheeling it to the bus.

Yep, it really is all-inclusive. We did spend a little bit of money beyond the cost of hotel and airfare on our first trip. You may/may not encounter or need. Here's where it went:

$100 trip insurance (travel agent provided)
$89 for hotel the night before flight in Chicago that included parking for up to 14 days
    $30 for dinner that night
$10 in tips on the bus ride to/from the resort.
$10 each for beer-stop on way to resort
$50/each for a private booze cruise from H2 (very fun!)
$10 for a pack of smokes at the gift shop
    $60 in souvenirs
$20 in the slot machines (silly but we were drunk and having fun)
$40 at the airport drinking during our 2hr delay out of MoBay

I thought I read a previous post of yours that said you haven't travelled before. ?? Some airlines might have checked baggage charges, you usually can find that out on their website or with a phonecall to the airline. We're flying Delta and they allow for free (2) 50lb checked bags per person plus carry-on. Hope this helps in making your plans.

I have flown with Delta twice in the last couple of months now and they are charging 25$ per checked bag now. Anything they can do to get more money from you I guess.
    9 Days and counting!!!!

Was that domestic or international? I just called about 10 days ago and they told me 2 free 50lb per person.

Travel to the Caribbean is still 2 X 50lb each. Though, I'd gladly take $100 off each ticket and go carry on only...

What would you take if you could ONLY take a carry on?

At least one pair of high heels
    Make-up
    Toothbrush
    Hairbrush
Bubba-keg (gotta have my water and lots of it in the morning)
A bathing suit for any excursion
    7 small dresses for dinner
    A cover up

Everything else I guess I could wear down in layers, they won't be weighing me! Some strange looks from other passengers for flying in my pj's and a pirate costume, covered with a toga as a scarf! Oh, plus my cowboy hat.
