jamaican holiday

We usually leave to come home just before the jamaican independence holiday in Aug. This year we are going the week after Aug 6 -12, and I have read the sex police really tone things down during this time. Any truth to this? Thanks

Yes during the Jamaican holiday the sex police really do tone things down. We went one time during that week never again do not like the atmosphere. Many times people would come to the nude pool or the jacuzzi at night and not get undressed. We did not enjoy our trip during the holiday.

You will find many more Jamaicans at Hedo during Jamaican Independence week. I know several people that have gone then. You will find many more people on the prude beach that week and many more clothed people on the nude beach that don't get asked to leave by security.

We went to HII a couple years ago during the Jamaican holiday, there were ALOT of Jamaicans on day passes and the resort really had the sex police out in force. I always enjoy going to HII, but will not go back during that time. Will go in July and November.

if it weren't for the fact that for the past 15 years or so we have always been in ja for independence day festivities, we too would probably avoid going to hedo at the time of the year. last year was absolutely ridiculous, and there was quite the uproar from people complaining of being treated basically like elementary kids. grown couples were being told not to sit on top of each other in the pools.......y'know, people who had been together for years and years, old married couples, etc. who is anyone to tell someone their spouse can't sit on their mate's lap in the pool?

we've decided to give it one more go this year and if it's ridiculous again, then we will be done with the resort for good, and find someplace else that actually treats the guests like adults.

what's odd/ironic is the fact that jamaicans always exude so much "sexuality" in their music and clubs and dance, etc, and yet here they are at an adult resort acting like it's a catholic school for 10 year olds...........

here's hoping for the best in '10.

Bad juju during that time of year. The weather can suck too (3 August trips) due to tropical storm season starting up. I'll tell you straight, winter is the very best when it's cold at home and perfect in Jamaica.

We have been at Hedo 3 every year during the Jamaican Holiday since 2002, the issues at Hedo 2 are definitely not happening at Hedo 3.
