Is there an ATM on or near the resort? And where would I need to go to break change i.e. asking for change for a $20 and they give me two $10s?

Don't....aside from the ATM fees that would apply, it may not work properly with your card....we have heard of some issues.
Also, as for change, you often will get change back in Jamaican dollars.
We each bring 50 bucks in 1s, another 50 in 5s, and maybe a hundred in 10s and 20s. (All US dollars) We usually end up spending most of it at the airport on the way back home....souveniers and RUM CREAM!!

at H2, there is an ATM in the casino area...it dispenses USD but the fee is like $8 or was a year or two ago when we used it---you HAVE to call your bank and let them know you will be out of the country or your card will NOT work--...as to getting change good luck...this year we took $30 in 1's and $100 in 5's for tips---felt like a stripper when I got home, lots of 1's left...LOL ---we use our card at airport for coffee, liquor and other souvenirs.
Yeah, ATM fees at the resorts are up there, and your card might not work w/o a call to your bank to authorize the funds. I would just make sure to take small bills/a little more cash than you need, and you'll be fine.
