Downloading pics to thread..HELP

I have downloaded several pics to my attachments on this site, but I cannot get them on the thread when I want to add pic to my reply...please help...as you can tell I am not puter savvy...Do not want to have son help me on this one...hehe...any help would be great. Want to post some pics to join in on the fun...LOL....

Where link_to_picture is the URL of the picture you want to post. This will embed the picture in the post.

Still very confussed I can't even find where code is....also now all the attachments I put in attachments are gone. We did log off for min...do you loose the pics in attachment file when you do that. I don't know frusturated now can't seem to get any pics on this site but my profile...lame...Trying...I just want to drag from my pic file on puter to this website and post....do I have to load them in the attachment file and is there another way to drag and post on site. Stupid I know but want to join in on the fun with pic posting....thanks

You have 2 type of choices on this type of board (vBulletin) to add images.

You can use the "Post Reply" option and attach your pictures to be downloaded from the thread. This will show up as a paperclip with the name of your picture.

You can also post an image that is hosted somewhere else (ie photobucket, flikr, tinypic, etc.) and it will show up as a picture, and not as an attachment with the paperclip.
If you have the picture hosted somewhere (we will use tinypic as an example) you post the link in the "code" like this:

[IMG]link_to_picture[/IMG]

Instead of using "link_to_picture" in between [IMG] and [/IMG] you put the url of the picture at tinypic.

Say this is your image below

Take the link above and put it in between the code, so the final result is:

Hey,

How we do it is: click on reply or quote and at the top with all the icons click on thee paper clip. from there it will take u to a pop up page that allows your to 'browse'. once you have sellected your picture attach it and click up load.

the final step would be to submit reply.
