Air Jamaica...discontinuing flights out of Chicago! :(

Our last trip we actually got to H3 at 11 pm. We thought about staying at Piper's Cove for the first night and walking down the street in the morning but could not stand the idea of missing that first night at Hedo.

Even with the best flights we can get we don't make it to the resort before 4 pm.

Nekkidpirate, I believe the correct answer is that most people lucky enough to go to hedo have their glass half full. Our trip (with nekkidpirate!) will be something akin to a barrel overflowing! I'll take a day anywhere but here where it is currently snowing

This truly sucks for those of us that travel out of Chicago. Maybe one of the other carriers will pick up a direct flight once AJ stops.

I sure am hoping for this. The AJ flights were always full from here too!

We chose Delta....which gets us in at 12:45pm with a layover in Memphis. Almost had an Atlanta layover but thanks to HV's advice we changed that route!

I am just too impatient of a person to do this but I can see the advantage of not being disappointed or upset with delays and complications in travel!

In August, we did a layover in ATL with an 8:30 AM departure, left with no problems, landed in JA at 10:25 AM...no problems mon...after AJ canx'd out of LAX, we were wanting to arrive as early as we could with as little of an inconvenience as we could find, thats what we came up with.

AJ will stop flights out of Orlando in March too, thats too bad cause now we will not have any non-stop flights from MoBay to Orlando. Have been shopping around for prices cannot seem to find a direct flight back from MoBay, so hows customs in Atlanta???

We were through it in a breeze no problems coming back on a Saturday at about 3-4 pm...your mileage may vary...

Must be the days you're looking at as Air Tran only operates non-stop on Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun on the MCO-MBJ-MCO route.

We too were affected by the Chicago cancelation by Air Jamaica. We spent alot of time researching flights and most of them left Montego Bay way too early for our liking or were not non-stop and either had too little time between connections or way too much time...I don't want to spend 3-5 hours hanging out waiting for the next flight.

We found American Airlines has a non-stop out of Chicago that gets into MoBay at 12:20 pm. The best we could do for departure was a 1:35 out of Sangster also on American Airlines. Unfortunately that is 3 1/2 hours earlier than the Air Jamaica flight.

Air Jamaica is going to cancel themselves out of business!

JetBlue just picked up with AJ dropped. One flight service from Orlando to MoBay. Right now they got it for $69 one way. One way sounds nice, then we can all stay!
