    Winter Changes at the Resorts

We will be at H2 this month, and this will be our first visit during the winter season.

Will there be a noticeable change in flowering plants?
    Are wintering birds commonly observed?
Etc that may not be observed during the other seasons... (migratory fish?)

My short term memory is severly impared at Hedo, but I think there are fish and birds. I think... Saw a cool thing last April. An egret caught a gecco in the flowers at the nude pool and gobbled him down. I'll try to insert a pic:

Been twice in December and never really notice any significant differences...although I was looking through eyes that had a steady stream of rum flowing through them.

Wonder if they ever truly have what we think of as dormant winter season??

We now reside in south FL without the generally known winter weather.
However if observant, you may notice many species of birds wintering here.
Different varities of plants flower during the season. We have a large tree that loses most of its leaves in the spring. Schools of shark will seasonally migrate through.

Bottom line, Santa delivered a new camera early (odd...he was dressed in brown not red). Just anxious to try it out while there.

Well, I can tell you that the midwestern boobies shed their tan summer color color and are very white when they migrate to JA, and turn a bright red after 24 hours and hopefully tan again after a few days there. Not much of a flock animal but often seen in pairs. lol

We saw some Lion fish when we were diving a few weeks ago. First time we saw them in Jamaica waters. There are not many bugs in Nov. Hopefully you will find the same.

The cock of the species lives in the dark most of it's life and tends to only come out in the daytime while in Jamaica. Hence it's one good eye is squinting from the bright light and it must be aware of the sunburn issue also. It does like to stay near the boobies and is on occasion seen to nest between a pair of boobies. They seem to get alone quite well, but this nesting does cause the cock to throw up occasionally. Studies are ongoing as to why this happens.
There is a notable absence of offspring, but it is thought that they tend to migrate to the mating grounds in Jamaica and leave their offspring at home.
Most of the cocks and boobies I've seen return to the same breeding grounds in Jamaica. There is a rookery at the West end of 7 Mile Beach in Negril and another in Runaway Bay on the North side of the island.
We continue to do research on the subject as we feel the study of cocks and boobies should not be neglected. Donations to support our efforts can be sent via cashier's check, wire transfer, or ACH to the attention of the author of this post.
Below is a picture from our most recent research expedition to Jamaica.

Great idea. As a child, I was first exposed to boobies through National Geographic, however these were often a sub-species known as the saggy boobies. The ones we find in Jamaics are the full tilt boggie boobies and the cocks find them more desirable.

"Probably shouldn't post to ForeHedo.com while at the office" he thought.

"But survey said Boobies ... and the red boobies are the most skittish, ya knoow", he whispered while pointing his large long camera lens at the boob.

Boobies had always been one of his favorites, so he was certain it would be an eventful expedition.
