House Party

This may be a bit off topic for this superb website; however you're all a great group of people.

So, we've been invited to our very first house party. What is the protocol for going to someone's private house party? Should we take anything for the host/hostess?

How do house parties usual go?

Any and all information regarding house parties would be much appreciated.

that depends a lot on the host....House parties can be pretty tame like any other party or it can be wild....where by 8oclock everyone is naked and in a big pile...


I would just ask either who invited you or if you know someone else who is going what you can expect....but whatever it is dont do anything your not comfortable with unless you want...the last thing someone new to something like this is to do something they later regret.

as far as bringing something....It would really depend on how formal the host is....again, nothing harmed by asking

The one we usually went to for a while was done by e-vite and you got to either bring something to share (food or beverage) or give a token donation to cover costs. Monkey suggested just asking... sound advice.
