I think maybe most doctors would back off the ED meds if you have underlying conditions like heart problems as it does raise your blood pressure as well as your tool. LOL

I know that if you are under 50, your doctor has to put you through alot of tests in order to convince BCBS insurance to pay for it and then they only pay a portion.

And if you're like some of us without prescription coverage (despite a $1350 non-group plan bill each month), you just pay the pharmacist, and decide if its worth the price.

BTW, I'm early 40's (despite the 55 in my avatar -- not my age!), and he didn't give me any tests, and he was very clear on the point that I don't have difficulty obtaining an erection. Again, doctors vary.

As an aside, if you're under the age of 80 and you have problems getting an erection often enough to notice go and get your heart checked. I'm not talking about erections that aren't as firm as they were when you were 18. ED, often, is the first sign of cardio-vascular disease.

I HAVE seen a doctor and tried several types of these drugs. My insurance limits me to 6 pills per month and they still cost over $6 a piece, so now I buy over the internet. I know they are coming from India but they work just as good as the name brand, and I have told my doctor that I'm using these and he really didn't seem to have any issues with it. I think I'm getting them for just under $3 each.

As far as brands? I like the Cialis Professionals(Tadalafil). They are less likely to be affected by what you eat, and last up to 24 hours, so I don't have to worry about taking one 30 minutes before sex.

I will say that I've had extensive heart tests over the past years, so my doctor is fully confident that my heart is not going to be an issue while using these.

I think the smart thing to do is go to the Doc and get an RX for 10 X 100mg Viagra through your local pharmacy. These are Phizer product and they are going to cost you about $12 each. If 50mg. works, cut them in half. Keep the empty bottle and when it comes time to buy more, hit the internet and buy generic at about $2.50 each. Refill the original bottle and you'll never have a problem. Customs sometimes checks pills to see that you are not importing generic product purchased outside the U.S. They warn you to have RX's in matching bottles.
I've used the Phizer product and the knock-offs, they work the same.

Oh, it's not high blood pressure that you have to be careful of, it's low blood pressure. That's why they say never to take it with nitrates (which crash your blood pressure.) Viagra would push it down even further. High blood pressure can keep you from getting a solid woody, so buy a cuff and keep tabs on it. I've been down this road.... My wife's a nurse too.

Sorry, I must correct a couple of errors. Those medicines generally work for one erection to climax. After that it's a matter of the mind. If you think it's still working you have confidence and aren't as likely to have erectile problems.

Second, they cause drop NOT raise in blood pressure

Third, Cialis lasts up to 36 hours. It goes like this: Viagra up to 4 hours; Levitra up to 8-12 hours; Cialis up to 36 hours. All of that applies only to how long it stays in your system to help obtain erection. That only applies until first climax when they are all metabolized and then require redosing to have affect again.

I love Viagra!!!! Those magical blue pills. If you have an erection that last for more than 4 hours go to the nude side and make a scene with your partner on one of the benches by the hot tub. LOL I also like some of the herbal drugs that you can buy from GNC. They seem to work fine too. Horny Goat weed is nice. Stamina Rx made my heart beat too fast. I won't mess with that one anymore. I never used to drink cofee before I came to Hedo but the first time I had a French Vanilla latte I achieved a monster erection that wouldn't quit. I don't know why but I loved it, so did my girlfriend. There are many things you can try but BE SAFE and HAVE FUN WITH IT!!!

Viagra will be going off US patent in 2011 and it's generic tablets will be a lot lower in price. I would think that it cost only cents to make a tablet.

At Hedo, I like to use the Cialis at half full tablet the night before so that there is some boost the next day when she gets in the mood for some PDA. I would not have done this before my 60's as the atmosphere at Hedo ll is more than a boost for most everyone.

At home the Viagra gets to work faster and if the mind wonders I can keep going until we are finished. One time is generally what is needed and Vigra is less expensive. I keep both on hand just in case and use the non US patent and the Doctor's percription since the free sample the Doc gave me.

Viagra is expensive. I would look to try a few pills. Anyone know where i can get some at a good price?
I live in Canada, it might be hard (no pun intended) to get here.

Yes, I'm a doctor and it shouldn't be dosed more than once daily. I don't like to get into a lot of fancy medical speak on a non medical forum. Just some observations.

I know you said you're a doctor (and I'm not), but this just CANNOT be correct. An orgasm cannot instantly trigger the complete and instant absorption of the drug from the bloodstream. That's not how the liver and kidneys work. If you look up the "bloodstream half life" of the drugs, does this not give you the amount if time it takes 50% of the drug to be naturally eliminated from the body? If you orgasm, this should not alter the absorption half life.

Cialis is about 17.5 hours in half life. Levitra is higher at 26 hours, but not as effective. Viagra is much less, at 4-5 hours. If the drug is still in your bloodstream after an orgasm, it should still have the same dilating effect and cause a sustained drop in blood pressure even after the fact, thus shortening the refractory period and enabling further erections.

They might be tougher than the first one to obtain... but the dfrug should still have effect as it will still be present in the bloodstream. Orgasm doesn't purge it.
