    Club Hurricane/Disco?

Hi all! We are new to the forum. We will be in Negril the week of Christmas and unfortuntely will not be staying at Hedonism. We have heard about all the fun and were thinking about either doing a day or night pass. We were leaning more towards the night pass, because we heard that there was club/disco area. We love to dance and wanted to check if club venue is nice and is fun and exciting. The day/night passes are expensive, so we wanted to make sure if it is worth going. We love nightlife and were also thinking about Jungle night club. We want to go somewhere that other tourists attending. Any advice would be appreciated!

IMHO, it's best to try a few day stay if cost is at all a factor. Otherwise you'll end up spending almost the same amount to get an 8 hour pass as you would to spend a more relaxing 24 hours. And the resort offers lots of varied relaxing as well as active stuff, so it's easy to dial in what appeals to you.

If you can only get away for a short time, then the day vs. night passes can be rather different. Days tend to be more casual and beachy. Folks socialize easily at the nude beach and there are many activities thru the day. Nights can be steamy or quiet, depending on the crowd. The recent G2 is that things are rather subdued due to increased enforcement of proprietry. (Hmm...is that a real word??)

Recent trip reports indicated to me that the activities in the evenings were returning to normal..you do not get that same feel C/L?

The disco is fun but when we were there in late june the disco was hit and miss and there never were very many people in there. Everyone seemed to be at the hottub and pool area. There are a couple of bars downtown negril that are supposed to be a lot of fun. Cabs will picks you up and take you back to your hotel for free.

We'll let you know when we get back on the 16th......though it does seem to me, Liz, (Chris wrote the above post and doesn't follow the boards as much as I do), that things may be returning to 'normal'....

I wouldn't go to Hedo 2 just for the disco, like Travelforfun said, it can be hit or miss. If you really want to try it you should go on PJ night, that seems to be when attendance is best.

One has to put in their time when expecting anything from the disco. It IS truly hit-or-miss.

We've gone in there plenty a night and been the only ones, but we stayed, others came in and saw us and hung around also and the place got jamming eventually. However, on nights where we went in and immediately left when seeing nobody inside, the place remained dead throughout the night. It took us a couple trips to figure out this formula lol

So when ya go, hang around and good things are bound to happen...hopefully... lol

For dancing, I would go elsewhere than Hedo. The disco at Hedo doesn't open until 11 and the music tends to be what the DJ likes, mostly hip-hop and reggae. Just my thoughts
