    nude vs prude

We currently have our room book for the prude side. It is $560 cheaper.

We are debating whether or not to switch our reservation to the nude side.

What are the pros and cons?
    Why pay the extra?
Is it really that much better?

    Thanks for your help!!

You will cut the walk time from your room to the nude pool area and other than that, there is no reason to stay on the nude side vs prude side. The savings in $$ more than justifies the extra steps on my book.

Stay in whatever room you like but remember you aren't going to Hedo because of the room... Save your money as you'll be outside doing something all the time anyway! Just our two cents.

We did enjoy our nude ocean view first floor room that we payed a TON for but that was just due to how close we were to the nude pool, hot tub AND chilly cheese fries!

All the rooms are essentially identical, save for the jacuzzi option.

The whole resort is only 300 yards long. Think of the walk from the nude pool to your prude side room as your exercise for the day, and a few rum calories burned off.

The farther you walk, the more interesting people you'll meet.

The $ you save are an extra day at Hedo.

While the rooms may be the same, there are differences. The prude garden rooms are the closest to the road and the ones on the end get a lot of road noise. The prude rooms are far from the nude pool, so you need to bring more stuff. Be sure to pack a beach bag for your stuff. We usually book nude garden, as we like the location. The ocean view is no big deal. in our opinion. We booked prude garden and paid to move to the nude side half way through the week. Good luck.

It seems you might have the impression that the room side you're staying on makes a difference in what you can do...it doesn't! The room categories are basically the same ...just some are closer to the nude beach and some are closer to Sandals, the road and the dining room. It really doesn't make much of a difference, except for the walk to the nude beach during the day (longer) and the walk to the dining room and disco at night (shorter).

If money is an issue I would save it and stay on prude side.

Thats exactly what we did, you have access to the entire resort and a nice walk from the prude side daily was not an issue. Though we could hear the traffic from the street, it really was not that big of a deal.

    Have fun...

Kim and I talked about that too, thinking (out loud) "Sigh..it's such a LONG walk." Before slapping my forehead and saying HEY>>>>You're going to be in JAMAICA in LATE NOVEMBER...WALKING IN SUNLIGHT dressed in damned little - which will soon pile on the sand....GET OVER IT!"

Last April we paid about $125pppn and about $1100 inc tax for airfare from Burlington VT (should be roughly $200-$400 cheaper when flying from Boston)...so about $2850 for us. That was for regular gvp, we got upgraded to nude garden view. I think you could have done better than $3600 from Boston for sure, especially with airfare. Always check with multiple travel agents.

We're paying $99pppn for September. Flights are roughly $860 total for 2 inc tax from Burlington, VT.

We've ever paid more than $400 a night for 2 and that was when we booked the nude ocean view jacuzzi room in November.

We are going for 5 nights (prude side) in December 09 and we got it for $1774.00. We used Vacationstogo.com. We used vacations to go before when we went to Punta Cana and got a great deal. Just our 2 cents =)

Here are two maps of the layout of each resort:

    http://home.comcast.net/~jimandmaryh...m/Hedo2Map.htm

    http://home.comcast.net/~jimandmaryh...m/Hedo3Map.htm

Of course it's hard to really tell the size but you get the schematics.

Personally I hated being at the far end (almost the last room) of the prude section at H2...it's not only a long walk just to the dining room (let alone the nude pool) but it's a lot of uphill walking to get there. It's manageble. Though not in FMPs! LOL

At H3 I never mind the room category as it's so compact.
