We were (are) newbies to the whole process and we booked way back in February when there was a deal that was about 1/2 price for September. The rate is still cheaper than the rates that just came by ... We had miles for our air so we thought going direct was the best way ...
Happy with our rate but are there any other issues we should be aware of???
If you have your trip all set, don't sweat it.
The price idea is that some of the agencies that do volume, get a discount for bringing in so much business, and that some of it can be passed on to you. That's the theory.
Also, some of the group trips offer group events to sweeten the pot, so book with them and join the group parties.
