Day Passes

We're staying at H3 (first timers) coming up next week, but want to check out the scene at H2.

Is this possible? Are there costs? How does it work?

Don't even try it unless you have a long vacation planned and are getting really bored and can afford a chartered helicopter. It's about 4 hours from Hedo III to Hedo II on crappy roads (great by Jamaica standards but terrible by USA standards). If you really want to make a day excursion, go down to Grand Lido Braco which is about a 30 minute taxi ride from Hedo III. It's more sedate but it has a great nude beach and pool and the facility is head and shoulders above Hedo III. Instead, save your travel dollars and go to Hedo II next time. Oh, yeah, as I recall, a day pass at GLB is about $75 per person and cabfare is about $40.

We were there a little over a week ago and wanted to go check out the sunset from H2. Found a cab to take us for $45 pp but H2 wanted $50/female and $100/male. There were 8 of us so we passed on the cab. He came back the next day and told us he would hook us up with 4 free passes but we were leaving later that day.

We have been to Hedo 2 before, but spend most of our vacations at Hedo 3. That being said, last year there were some folks in our group that had never been to Hedo 2. We set up an excursion with the tour desk. For $75 USD per person, 4 couples headed from Hedo 3 to Hedo 2, the trip also included sunset at Ricks Cafe and a day pass at Hedo 2. It did not seem like it took 4 hours, but we were with friends and did not notice how long it took going each direction. Since we had been to Hedo 2, it was like a second homecoming, seeing old friends. We hung out at the nude pool/beach for most of the afternoon, had lunch in the buffet...pretty nice salad bar that day, hit Ricks Cafe a bit before sunset, hung out at the bar, saw the sun go down and headed back to Hedo 3. Would we do it again, maybe, if we could get a bunch of folks to go with us.

Go, have fun...the 4 hour drive be damned....you will lose one day at Hedo 3, but its your vacation....as I recall we got back in plenty of time for PJ night at Hedo 3.

Forgot to say the cab driver told us it would be about 2 1/2 hrs with no stops. Grocery store 4 blocks away that sells red stripe for about $15 a case

Case of beer and 2.5 hours ride....reminds me of our trip, the driver told us about the legality peeing on the side of the road in Jamaica...lol...
