We're horrible at writing thse things so bear (or is that bare?..hehe) with us....
Our trip lasted from Dec.26 til Jan.2, and we wished we were still there. Jamaica really and truly is the jewel of the Carribbean, and we officially consider it our home away from home, even if it is for just one week per year.
From the time you get off the plane in MoBay, you just have a sense of 'Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....that's better...'. The smell of the sea air, crisp and tangy in your nostrils...the sound of Patois on the natives lips...and of course Red Stripe (is there anything better??), send you away to your happy place even before you reach the resort.
Was it the 'perfect' resort as far as ammenities? Not even close. But who cares???? There's no snow to shovel....no kids pestering.....no stress.....e'ryting is irie mon...
Check in was expediant, our room was clean, there was lots of hot water (even if you had to wait a couple minutes for it to make it up to the 3rd floor...lol) and the atmosphere of the place just kind of takes you over. You feel at home right away, whether because of the friendly nature of the staff, or the resort guests. Everybody was there to have a good time, and from we could see, everybody did.
We met some amazing people, made some amazing new friends (you know who you are... ) and that, more than anything is what we take away from our brief visit to paradise: the relationships formed. You meet people from every walk of life, and from all over the map....but for that one week, we're family (and in some cases there WERE actually family members there together.....the story is funny as hell...ask us about it...lmao!!).
The food was adequate, the nightlife was superb and that friggin waterslide is out of this world....especially naked and drunk!!
Laying under a Noni tree by the nude pool, looking at everybody relaxed, not a care in the world and having the time of their lives....it made us realize that it's the little things in life that make it so special. Friendships....laughter....those little flirty glances you catch people giving you. It's those things that will keep us going back year after year.
Until next time friends....be safe, live life to the fullest, and dance like no one is watching.....
Peace&Love
Sindi & Shawn
