    Noobs Nov 2-9

First things first... we had an incredible time. That is why you go to Hedo II - for the experience. Oh the things we saw, the things we did, the things we cannot even mention to our friends... like everyone else told us, its a wild place to go and do wild things. Not even catagory 4 hurricane Paloma just offshore could ruin our trip. It changed a few things, but we found ways to still have fun (keep reading).

I'll start with the negatives. Um, lets see... well... the rooms could use some serious updating (we were on the prude side). That is about the only negative I can come up with. A renovation could also include improving the reliability of the hot water. We never had cold showers, but a couple were just warmish and had to run for a few minutes to get past cold. But we learned to deal with it.

Now then, the positives. The food impressed me. Pastafari was excellent. The Japanese place was good, though I've had better (as good as Japanese in Jamaica is going to get I suppose). But the buffet impressed me the most. I usually think of the buffet food at a resort as what you eat when you can't get into a restaurant. Not so at Hedo II. There was always good stuff for dinner. Breakfast was especially good. Charlie stirs up a mean omlette. Plus the outfits on people... always something entertaining. Drinks? Oh yum. But like others say, pace yourself. I had a bad 2nd morning, but learned my lesson. Alternating water with alcohol worked the rest of the week for me. Be sure to have some Ting while there. We really liked rum and Ting, but others seemed to have it with vodka.

While we were there, hurricane Paloma formed and really churned things up. On Thursday night some friends of ours left the hot tub to go to the beach. They came back 5 minutes later after being kicked off. Security was keeping people off the beach with it being dark and the 10 foot breakers and 40mph winds and all. I'm glad they were looking out for everyone. Friday the weather was wild. Through the saltwater spray, you could see huge waves hitting the reef offshore. At the beach, they were completely rolling over the pier and splashing over the top of the jetty. H II seemed to have a little more elevation, but I think I would have been nervous nextdoor at Sandals. In the afternoon a group of us rode out a storm in the pool at Delroy's. You stayed warm as long as you were in the pool and out of the wind. But when another storm approached we decided to move to the hot tub. Everybody else at the resort had the same idea and there was no room. So we decided to take over the hot tub by the main pool. It was near full when we got there, so we decided to do a few naked runs down the waterslide. Then the second storm hit and the suited people cleared out of the hot tub, so in we went. It was pretty hot, so to cool off, we got in the main pool, where I found a volleyball, which led to coed naked volleyball in the main pool during a hurricane. What a story. Where else are ya gonna do that?

Before we went, we were unsure what sorts of PDAs we were going to see. After the first night, all questions were answered. So to other noobs, recognize that you're going to see things (and hopefully participate a little). To single guys, let people be. If you are going to be invited, you'll be invited. Scooting closer and closer is not going to gain you an invitation - its just creepy. We even saw one single guy get escorted out of the hot tub for something like that. But its really not a big proplem. I just wanted to vent about it a little.

In all, we will definitely be back. Perhaps not multiple times in a year, but definitely something to do again.

WOW! Sounds like you had a blast!!

When I was reading your Post I had to Look Up a couple of the Abbreciations that you used. So now I get PDA but you might want to edit the way that you spelled Newbie.

Someone who does not know how the world works, what is going on, or anything. They aren't as new as annoying. A newbie is someone new but isn't an idiot. A n00b is the most annoying thing on this earth!

I'm sure that you do not fit this description. :0)

Thanks for giving this Newbie a little insight into what to expect in December.
