    mosquitos

Last time we were at Hedo 3 (nov 2004) I recall not having much trouble with mosquitos.

We were not sure why but noted this odd noise at night. We assumed that the noise must be similar to that of a bird or other predator of mosquitos and thus Hedo was playing this noise over speakers to keep the mosquitos away.

Does anyone know the true situation.

We will be there at the end of July and the first part of August.

    Thanks

If you are talking about the chirping at night, that would be tree frogs. Pretty much the whole island comes alive with their calls at night being nocturnal creatures. They are difficult to find as the sound seems to be coming from everywhere, but if you take a bit of time you can find them in the trees and shrubs at night. In Jan. I have also seen them spraying the perimiter of the property as well to keep mosquito numbers down.

those little suckers won't fall on your head or shoulders or any other body part with they!!?? (tree frogs) LOL

i am such a pussy (well, obviously, LOL) when it comes to critters. Mammals do not bother me, especially the 2 legged kind but skeeters, lizards, frogs, crabs, etc. make me hurt myself trying to get away from them
