How far is negril from run away bay!?
The ride to Negril from Runaway bay would take several hours. Basically you go all the way back to Montego Bay then to Negril. We took a trip from Hedo II to Dunns River Falls back in 98 and it was an all day adventure. Most of the time spent on the roads. They have improved the road to Negril since then but still a long ride. I'd guess around 3 hours in a taxi, 4 in a bus with beer stops.

Could you do the same trip by boat? It might be worth spending a day going along the coast, avoiding the contruction.
Not sure if you could but I think that would be a great trip. hedo should do that. take a boat from hedo III to hedo hedo II.
What fun that would be.
