Under current law ... we are exempt of $800. There seems to be no restrictions of Liquer or Tabacco ( no cuban) http://www.customs.ustreas.gov/xp/cg...ation_form.xml

Rum cake HUMMMM I didnt think you can bring back any food or fruit.
Do you think we can get past customs if we put the cubans under the clothes that have the vibrators on top..... Just a thought.......
If you go on the shopping trip, every store will offer to swap labels on the cigars so you can take Cubans home, they'll put a local Jamaican label on them and you should have no problems... I only bought a few for while I was there, but it seems easy enough to bring them back with you!
If you take the wrappers/labels off, there is no way to tell a Cuban from any other cigars. I believe you can bring up to two boxes home. One reminder, when leaving the airport to head to the resort, make sure your bus driver knows you want to stop.
There were only four of us on the bus last time and we didn't stop. Jim was disappointed he didn't get his cigars. Good thing were going back in Nov.

I am a big fan of Rum and ya'll got me curious as hell about the Overproof. Is that super saturated alcohol? Or is it just really strong? I am a pretty big fan of Bacardi 151, so is it as strong or stronger? Also what does it taste like? It is a pretty strong? Mellow? Paint thinner? haha.
Thanks A J,
Tried looking around myself but couldn't come up with anything really solid. Sounds like a great way to kick off a night.

Just got this from the customs site...
Alcoholic BeveragesOne liter (33.8 fl. oz.) of alcoholic beverages may be included in your exemption if:
You are 21 years old.
It is for your own use or as a gift.
It does not violate the laws of the state in which you arrive.
Federal regulations allow you to bring back more than one liter of alcoholic beverage for personal use, but, as with extra tobacco, you will have to pay duty and Internal Revenue Service tax.

Last year we ended up having to give away a lot of the rum we had gotten by participating and getting "hedo bucks". But, still ended up taking home about 8-10 bottles in the luggage and bought some other stuff at the duty free at the airport. While they could have stopped up at Customs, they didn't.
