Agree with being very discreet. Also if you want to give items to your room attendant, give it directly to them, preferably in advance. (we always ask what their day(s) off are) Sometimes as soon as you check out, their boss will check your room before they even get there and it might not get to them.

We have booked our fifth trip for October 2023.

We generally do not wear our wedding rings to the pool to ensure we don't lose them. We do wear our Fitbit watches.

We are not smokers but we do like edibles. On our last trip, we brought gummies with us in our carry-on with some other snacks. No problem whatsoever. I realize that many would not be comfortable doing this. We will be bringing gummies on our next trip as well. With weed becoming legal in so many places, TSA is retiring pot sniffer dogs due to a problem with false positive hits.

Your wife has nothing to worry about. You will see every type of person there. From the twenty-something to the seventy-something-plus, thin to large, tattooed and pierced to unadorned. Although you will see some Ken and Barbies, they are very much in the minority. You will find that Hedo is the least judgemental place that you have ever been to and no one will care what you look like as long as you are polite and not a jerk.

Consider using Club MoBay for arrival. Think of it like an insurance policy. You may need it and you may not. On our second trip to Jamaica, we were in the immigration line for nearly two and a half hours. We have used Club MoBay on each trip since. On our last trip, it was totally unnecessary as we were able to walk right up to immigration with only about a five-minute delay. We will continue to use the service for trips in the future.

Consider bringing a large insulated cup so that you don't have to go to the bar quite so often. We have 24 oz Tervis Tumblers with lids and straws that we bring. Drink to your desired level of buzz then alternate between an alcoholic drink and a water. This will help to keep you hydrated and help keep you from overindulging and missing a day of fun.

Use sunscreen liberally. Few things can ruin your trip like getting scorched, especially early on. We use the Walmart Equate brand 50 SPF. It has been found to be one of the best for UVA and UVB protection while being one of the lowest in cost per use.

Do not tip. You risk getting a person fired from a good job.

To add to Jhgreen12's & FunInNHToo's great posts, we always recommend the following for first timers:

    • Both of you participate in every theme night, you'll be glad you did.
    • Bring at least one checked bag to bring enough sunscreen. You are not going to get through the week with just 3oz of sunscreen a piece, and the cost of checking a bag is nearly made up for if you have to buy sunscreen at the gift shop. Never mind the extra room to pack theme night outfits / dinner wear; you'd be amazed how many clothes you end up bringing to a nudist resort.
    • Club MoBay is worth its weight in gold when arriving to get through customs and immigration fast, and can be nice when departing as well.
    • If you use a particular sugar-free sweetener (especially Sweet & Low / pink), you'll want to bring some of your own in a zip lock bag. For that matter, bring a few extra zip lock bags, they're very useful to keep things dry & sand free if you're at the beach or pool.
    • Schedule a couples massage on the beach.
    • Every room has an insulated carafe, before you go to bed for the night walk yourself up to one of the bars / soda stations and fill that up with ice & water, you'll thank yourself when you wake up thirsty later.
    • Absolutely bring your own insulated mugs. We also bring a small insulated bottle with a screw-on cap; you can ask one of the bars to give you some rum cream or Irish cream to go in your coffee the next morning.
    • Take a couples kayak out at least once on the trip. It's good exercise and gives you a wonderful view you wont get from the beach alone.
    • Book yourself on one of the catamaran cruises. It's your choice if you want to go to Rick's Cafe and watch / participate in the cliff diving, or go to the sea caves for a more low-key afternoon.

There's more of course, but some things you have to experience yourself. Hope that you have a great trip.
