has there been an increase in covid cases at the resort? just wondering what the ratio is. I have read where all members of groups have been affected.

visited last week and started having stomach issues last 2 days. Felt blah after eating or didn't feel like eating much. Tested negative at resort. Got home and tested positive. Symptoms were no worse than a cold. (luckily) Still have a slight cough and stuffy nose but nothing else.

We just returned last Sunday night. 5 couples in our group were sent to covid jail at the resort last Friday and Saturday after testing positive…these are the ones we know of. We have tested positive after arriving home. Precautions were taken in the dining room but many of the staff wore masks improperly (masking has now been lifted in Jamaica). I suspect the main culprit for the spread is the zoo that is the nude pool during the day. I cannot give any sort of ratio but can tell you from experience that covid is alive and well at the resort.

Yes we had 4 cases from the group of friends that we were with last week, one was quarantined there the other 3 made it home first. We also had 4 Brits with us that didn't need to test to get back to the UK so no idea if they are positive or not.
Our covid test at the resort, which I gave the nurse tester a tip for, was the least evasive test I have ever had and she gave us the results in 5 mins using the same test kit we have at home that requires a wait time of 20mins!!!
The nude pool was packed most afternoons, so basically covid soup!!!!

Been here since Monday and haven’t heard of any cases. They even asked for our test results at check in after Jamaica dropped the mandate

We just returned home yesterday. i tested positive Sunday and my wife and i were moved to Covid corner. I tested positive again Monday and also took a PCR test. i tested negative on Wed and get a flight home on Thursday. In total, I knew of 8 people in our group that tested positive with the resort rapid test, all requested PCR tests which were negative, witch sounds to me like there was a problem with the resort rapid tests. i also know of a few couples who tested positive when they got home. I don't know what the ratio was, but if someone read or heard that an entire group was infected, that is wrong. We had over 100 propel in ur group and the entire group was not invected.

Can anyone tell us what the procedures are when leaving Jamaica to head to US at airport with Covid paperwork? Is it a big deal or do they simply look at your paperwork or a copy on your phone? Or is there more to it and to the forms you have to fill out???

The process is actually pretty simple, or at least it is for United Airlines. We get Hedo to print our test results when we check out and when we check in at United they look at the results. Pretty quick and simple. I imagine they could also look at the results on a phone but we like having the paper just in case there are any technology issues with the phone.

I quess the only concern I see is that Jamaica has dropped its mandatory covid test to enter. which means that we are afraid covid cases will spike. We are planning on taking a few covid test with us.

thank you read that a lot of those were false positives due improper storage of the kits

from other reports that I have read on facebook Covid is really running wild there now. I spoke to a friend of ours that was in Covid Jail. She said it was really bad down there. She just now got a flight out after 5 days.

I would agree that covid is running wild. We just left the resort on May 02, with several friends in our group in covid island.
We had stayed away from the covid nude pool (it was crowded like it normally is) with lots of pool games and social interaction and even avoided the carwash. We stayed exclusively on the beach. But upon testing here at home in Canada both the wife and I were positive.
At one point covid island didn't have enough isolation rooms and the infected were required to stay in their rooms else where in the resort till a room opened up.
Agree that the staff were not wearing their masks properly, but also some guests were refusing to wear masks in the dining room too. We had dinner with one. Yes, several test kits were bad because they were stored incorrectly and people tested positive. Some of our group requested PCR tests after showing positive with the antigen test, and tested negative.
Folks, the pandemic is not over, please use caution.20220426_080222 (Small) (Custom).jpg
