    Check In: COVID Test Timing

We are flying in a day early and spending one night at another hotel before our week at Hedo.

We will take a Rapid Antigen test 1 day prior to our flight. That means the test will have been taken TWO days prior to checking in at Hedo.

Will this suffice? I can't find documentation.

    Thank you!

    Well this is interesting.
Up until a week ago, H2 was requiring at least an antigen test taken within 3 days of check in. So you would have been OK.
HOWEVER, I tried to find this comment/information again, but it seems to have vanished into the ether.
Even Dennyp's link to H2 covid details, is broken.
So to that end, I would suggest a call to H2 and verify with them exactly what today's requirements are.
But be forewarned that everything could change tomorrow.
Here's is the number I used to talk to guest relations on a different matter. +1 (631) 588-4336.
Post here with the results for the rest of to know.

Still need a test 3 days before. BUT, no longer need to fill out Travel Authorization form.

"Effective March 1, 2022, ALL you need to travel to the island is a negative Antigen or PCR test result conducted within 3 days of travel, regardless of your vaccination status. Children under the age of 12 do not need a test result."

I believe the original poster was asking about admission to the resort. Which at one time required a negative covid test taken OFF site.
True, that you only need a negative covid test to fly into Jamaica, and NO travel authorization. as of March 1, but that is Jamaica not Hedo.
Although it looks like Hedo has now dropped the negative covid requirement. But that has NOT been confirmed.

    They have not.

Click the Read More button at the bottom of the page.

It’s from August 2021, and still makes reference to the now defunct Travel Auth., but they have not amended the language requiring a test within 3 days of check-in.

Well that was the quote I was looking for. While it might be stale data, it's what I would go by were I showing up at Hedo. Thanks for the link.

You’re welcome! Also, we were told by our travel agent a month ago that if we stayed elsewhere in Jamaica for a day or two prior to arrival at Hedo, such that more than 3 days had elapsed from our test, we would have to arrive at Hedo in the morning for an on-site test, before we could check in that afternoon.

I don’t know if Hedo will relax requirements in the future, but for most people, who have to follow Jamaican government guidelines anyway, and go straight from the airport to Hedo, it doesn’t matter.

We arrive on the island on April 12 but not to Hedo until April 15. If I get at test in the US on April 11, will I need another test to get into Hedo. My test would be 4 days old. Do they even ask to see your test at Hedo? Is the 3 day requirement set in stone or is 4 days close enough? Will Hedo test us if we show up with 4 day old test and they want a newer test? Thanks.

You will need a new test. They ask for a take a hard copy of your test results.
