I just returned Sunday night after10 days and am working on both my trip report (solid 'A" rating) and my videos/photos.

Summed up: awesome and epic

Looks like we arrive on the same day. You taking the 'party bus' over or a private transfer? We are torn on the best approach for a Monday arrival and our first visit.

Although I haven't contacted them yet to make a reservation, my preferred mode of transportation is with Rocky's. I have always found them extremely reliable and they have plenty of good reviews on this forum.

I agree 100%. I have personally used (and used for my annual group trip) Rocky's for 10+ years, including last week.

I've been taking the shuttle for years. Some peeps like private cars, but the benefit of the shuttle (especially for new peeps) is you get to meet people on it before you arrive at the resort. I'd do it once just to see if you like it before doing a private car. I enjoy it because often there are peeps in my group on it and we meet others.

Have even had the same driver on a couple of trips.
That says alot is he has the same employees year after year

I agree, taking the Sun Holidays Bus is great for the first time to Hedo. You get to talk to other people, some vanilla some Hedo people, and see if you're brave enough to volunteer the fact you're going to Hedo, or avoid that until you pull up. After that trip when you come back the second time you're so anxious to get there and get naked you'll take the fastest mode of transportation available, aka private taxi. I highly recommend Rocky's https://www.rockystaxiandtourservice.com/. I've used Rocky's 17 of my 18 trips. First trip we took the bus, every trip since has been with Rocky's. Good equipment and he has all of the required licenses and insurance. He is a hard working honest business man that want's to grow his business by providing an excellent service to his customers.

We used to take the shuttle. Especially when it was with SuperClubs. You knew that everyone was going to the same resort.
When Superclubs sold out, we took the "Generic shuttle", trouble was, 1. The long wait in the bus for all seats to be filled (with SuperClubs you waited in there private lounge). 2. Non Hedo guests, with children (Can't talk Hedo talk). 3. Many stops at multiple resorts before Hedo. 4. A long time between departure from MBJ and the resort.
We now use Rock's. Prompt, quick, reliable, Clean cabs.

I do agree it can be fun if your peeps are on board, or even others, heading to the same resort, otherwise it's a boring trip (after the first time).

We saw another thread recommending 'Dwaynes' for private transfers. Anyone on here have experience with them? Seems as reasonable as can be but sometimes of course you get what you pay for ($60 each way).

The Hedo II website has a link requiring the use of "approved" transportation during COVID. I assume Rocky's is approved. Did you contact them direct or thru the Rocky's Tours website ?

Would Hedo really turn us away if its not "approved transportation". We just booked with a tour operator to pick us up from the airport and do a quick tour before arriving and checking jnto Hedo.

For First timers the bus is great. Bring a backpack, a bottle opener and stop at the bar in the airport baggage claim or the one right outside the door. Buy 6-7 beers, load them into your backpack and carry them onto the bus. Make some new friends, hand a few beers out, get people to loosen-up and you'll have friends at the resort! Pretty funny, years later the people we still keep in contact with, most we've met on the bus.
