Married 20+ years. Now that the kids are older, we're looking forward to an adult vacation with just the two of us. Been doing a lot of research, and was thinking about Desire RM or Hedo. But we also like to do offsite exploring (easy trails) and site seeing, so not sure if that fits it in with these resorts, so we need to learn more.

Don't rule out Desire Pearl. If you stay at Pearl, the walk down the beach to Puerto Morelos is actually quite nice. You will pass by some other resorts on your way and see a variety of locals mixed in with travelers on the beach. The shopping area of Puerto Morelos is quaint, you'd probably enjoy it. A lot of people spend an afternoon and grab lunch just for the novelty of it.

Thanks for the hint! When we looked it Pearl it seems pretty nice (just not as big as RM or Hedo). We'll do a little more research on that one as well.
