    Covid test near Hedo?

    Hello everyone.
I am from Canada. Our Government just implemented one more travel restriction for Canadians which is we have to perform an official Covid test, with negative results, before boarding our plane back to Canada. Hence, I would like to know if there is any official Covid test center (e.g., PCR) near Hedo. I want to go this year; however, I need to factor in one morning, I guess, to go to a test center to have this done so that I can go back to Canada.
    Your comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks

According to the resort web site, they will start tomorrow, January 11 at a cost of about $180 Canadian.

FYI, they are doing this in Cancun for about $100 USD and are looking into lowering the cost.

Hi Joe do you have a link for the resort testing?? The link for Hedo website's "party safely" does not address on site resort testing. After Jan all US citizens must have a neg test to re-enter the country.

The info that was on their web site has been removed. I think that with the US requiring the same, they have to rethink their plan.

Micro labs are going to offer on-site testing at the resort but it is currently very expensive. You need a PCR test going down and a PCR test returning for Canadians.
It potentially adds almost 600CDN to your trip at this time. You really have to question the extra costs considering you will also have to wear a mask at most places on the resort. A mask in the piano bar is just doesn't seem right. I hear some TA's are offering to partially cover the costs.

    Covid Testing

I feel sorry for the resort owners having to navigate the ever-changing rules and restrictions being placed on them. And for us guests who really need a break from the craziness.

Last I heard on Negril.com from locals is that COVID tests (PCR or Antigen) are available on a drive-thru basis at Boardwalk Shopping Village(not to be confused with the hotel on the other side of Sandals) where the new Negril Hi-Lo grocery store is being built(midway down seven mile beach) Prices are reported to be $200usd for PCR($28000J) or $140usd for Antigen tests for the US per CDC guidelines.

Info as of 1/22 was PCR tests were only available on Mon/Wed/Thurs 8-11.

Sounds like Hedo is providing Antigen tests for US travelers, don’t remember the minimum stay requirement, just that comp stays and Travel Agent rates weren’t qualified.
