    Canadians

Just today it was announced that starting July 5th, Canadians returning from international travels will no longer have to quarantine for 14 days, IF they are fully vaccinated. We still have to provide a negative Covid test performed within 72 hours of leaving your destination country, and do another test upon arriving in Canada. So, my question is... do we have any fellow Canadians booking their trip to Hedo? We are so anxious to get back there, and are still hoping to make it in August!

Booked with WestJet vacations for September 11 for a week. Able to cancel up to 3 days ahead, should restrictions return etc. A really good price too!

Need to get into the ocean again. Ned to meet up with the Seamore group members again. Let's hope it works out OK.

    Baz&Sus,
Can you tell me what extra steps you had to take to travel from Canada to Jamaica during Covid?

Nov 2020 seems like a decade ago. At the time, the requirements were quite lax. We had to complete and print off the Jamaican Govt Travel Authorization in order to be allowed into Jamaica - mandatory. There was also a mandatory requirement by Hedo to have a documented negative Covid test within 72 hours of checking in. Mask was mandatory in both YYZ and MBJ airports, as well as during the entire flight, both ways. Surprisingly, no negative test required by the airline at check-ins at either end. Temperature check while going through security. Out of courtesy and respect, we wore mask in private hire car with Rocky's, as did Rocky himself.
Upon checking in at Hedo, masks were worn during process. Reception desk didn't even ask to see negative test - the sole reason we got one...thankfully the tests were still free at that time for travel purposes.
No masks mandatory when walking around the resort, pool, etc. but were required when entering dining room and restaurants. Temperature checks when entering restaurants but not the main dining area. Masks were removed once you sat down then expected to be put back on once you get up to get more food. Buffet staff at all stations who had the plates - you advised what you wanted and how much, once finished at that station, they would then hand your plate to you. If you then walked over to another station, you would again advise what you wanted as the filled a second, new plate for you. All staff wore masks all the time. small army of staff continuously wiping all surfaces everywhere in the resort at all times. Sanitizing stations all over the place on the resort. No coolers full of water bottles - you were provided your own refillable sport bottle when checking in with numerous filling stations resort-wide.
Almost all guests were respectful and respected distance. We usually kept our distance, mostly people watching for the first few days, trying to judge who was cautious like us and was there without care for you, themselves or anyone else - like the couple who happily admitted they had both been recently infected but were "cured" now and asked pretty much everyone if they wanted to fuck. Not many takers that we knew other than the ones who also just landed without a care in the world and would be fucking each other within a few hours of checking-in and heading to the pool for said "action". Typically they were all from the same nation.
For scuba, you claimed your BCD and regulator for the week, no one else would use it, you would hang it or stash it in the equipment room in a particular spot, then grab the same ones the next day. Once you departed, they would be sanitized for the next user.

Hi, planning on going in August and was wondering if a negative test was still required to enter Jamaica, board the flight from Canada to Jamaica, and where to get one of these tests in ontario. We dont live near Toronto, so seem to have less options, everything seems to be at best an hour away. Also, whats up with August, being a newbie we're wonderjng why the calendar is empty jn august while bustling with activity other months.

We went in August 2017, 2018, and 2019. It was less busy than our first trip at Easter 2016, but it was still awesome!
IF we get to go this year, it would be middle to end of August.

August 16th - 19th. And dint mean to say nothing going kn in august, just that the week we are there there are no groups scheduled, not sure what to expect.... will it be exceptionally quiet? As hedo virgins, not in the lifestyle and fist time at a cloathing optional resort, i dont mind if its a bit more quiet, just wondering what to expect.
