Any Non Stop Flights From SoCal to MBJ?

Years ago Air Jamaica had a great red eye non stop out of LAX and even last year AA had the same. These seem to be seasonal but I can't find any carrier who even offers a non stop, let alone a red eye non stop in early June. Am I overlooking anything, or are they all gone?

They’re all gone. JM LAX-MBJ was my first flight to Jamaica. I repeated it last May on AA just weeks before they permanently cancelled it.

There’s been rumors that Cayman Airways might eventually add flights LAX-GCM-MBJ or LAX-MBJ-GCM as the governments gave rights to each other that would make such a service legal. Thought being that their might not be enough traffic from LAX to the Cayman Islands, but with Jamaica flyers as well, it might pencil out and bring more tourists to the Caymans.

However, I wouldn’t hold my breath as I’d heard the plan relied on new aircraft, specifically the 737-Max 8 which is now grounded worldwide(including Cayman Airways two planes). Their older planes don’t have the range for So Cal.

Well that blows... Everytime we did it the flight was packed. Hard to believe there are not enough West coast types to make it work.

We took the Friday night American LAX-MBJ flight twice. That was really nice. MBJ was a ghost town at 7 am! I understood the Jamaican Tourist Board guaranteed the flight for American so they could not lose money, but both times we took it it was packed. I don't know if they revoked the guarantee or what happened that AA decided to discontinue the flight. It was sad though!
