We also received a notification about this today though seems like the email advising this change in the loyalty program leaves a few questions unanswered.

Coming from the UK, we only have a once weekly direct flight from our local airport, so our trips to Hedo are always 14 days duration.
So, under the new loyalty program, we book 12 nights at the resort via our travel agent but we have a 14 day gap between flights.
At what point do we get the $700 voucher to pay towards the extra 2 nights we need?
If we can't book those 2 nights until we arrive at the resort, then we run the risk of the resort being full and having to find alternate accommodation.
Even if we can extend our stay when we arrive in the resort, what rate will the hotel charge for the extra nights? $700 should be close to 2 nights of value, but if the resort decides to use the standard rack rate when the vouchers are redeemed, then there wont be much value left after paying for just 1 night.

    Questions, questions...……..

A little more info trickling down.

The following is intended to answer some early questions regarding the 2019 $700 for 12 program that was announced yesterday.

    • Management decision was made to change from comp nights to a dollar value.
    • Benefits start at 12 nights vs 14 nights
    • Vouchers are per room, not per person
    • Similar to the former 3 for 14 program, the vouchers must be approved by the resort. All other booking conditions remain in place, ie. travel agents, niche partners and tour operators may make the 700 for 12 bookings, including groups.

So to "The Brits", it sounds like your travel agent can indeed book your extra days, but at what rate, they may be using rack rates and not group rates.

Thanks "We2are469" for the further info.
It would certainly make the booking process a lot easier if our travel agent can mange the whole thing.

This new promotional program will likely increase the demand on prude gardenview rooms ( the cheapest rooms) because if the $700 credit is used towards another almost 2 nights (after group or sale pricing) it really just means almost 2 extra nights at no cost after TWELVE instead of FOURTEEN nights. I am glad we are already booked for next Nov/Dec 2019 and still can use the 14 plus 3 deal because we booked before Jan 1st. Any incentive is good so we can squeeze by the fact of the 72 cent Canadian dollar ( the worst rate in 3 years). So glad longer stays/ more frequent stays are still rewarded.
