It is certainly not "necessary". We've been to Jamaica primarily during peak season, landing on Saturdays, at NOON, with 5 other flights landing at the same time. We have waited in line for up to 45 minutes, but normally around 15-25 minutes.

It's hard to predict waiting times because they change staffing depending on how many planes are landing, so (although rare) you could have a longer lineup on a Wednesday in the off-season, then you would on a Saturday during peak season... but generally I've found lineups aren't that bad and they are fairly efficient at processing people.

If you're the kind of person who could be bothered if you spent 160 USD on a service which saved you only a couple minutes of lineup, then don't get it. If you're the type of person who could get lots of anxiety about potentially being stuck in an immigration line for an hour, or you'd rather just pay the money to avoid the risk of waiting in line... get club MoBay.

Its really a decision based on how much 160 USD is worth to you...

To give you any help in deciding we didnt use club mobay when we left. We had to stand in line for over an hour or more to get into customs. We usually eat at Margaritaville but since we took so long getting thru customs we were not able to do so.. We will use them on the next trip... Now I did talk to a couple who said they went to the Club Mobay desk and were able to get in for only 30.00 each.. not sure if thats true..

    Anyway hope that helps

Yeah, it's $30.00 US (40 Canadian) out going, and $50.00 US incoming, on the Expedia site.

So, any expectation on when your flight arrives?
So much this. My friends have used it upon arrival most times I've traveled with them, and it's about a 15-20 minute difference. Leaving, however, We all have to wait for the plane. 2 hours is 2 hours for everyone and not waiting in line to get through security with a bunch of other weary travelers is well worth it.

If your plane is landing during a busy time of day/weekend, it's probably worth it.

FYI you can see how many arrivals are expected the day and time you arrive from Flight tracker and that might help you make your decision. If you arrive on or about the time as a Virgin Atlantic flight or a Thompson flight ( now called TUI) when they are using 747's, then customs will be very busy. The info is only a few days out but the arrivals really don't vary much. ie. ten planes arriving between 2 and 3 on a tuesday will usually be the same for the next few Tuesdays etc.

For our last two trips, Nov 2017, and March 2018, both times the arrival was so quick, we just walked straight through the airport, customs and immigration, luggage to the shuttle in no time. Would not have paid for itself both of those times. Leaving we used Club MoBay and I think it was wonderful. That was our experience. Arrival-nah. Departure-YES.

And if your flight is late (or delayed) in departing, you can sit in comfort, and drink and eat, and WiFi. Something to consider with winter/weather, conditions thses days.

For us arrival makes more sense. We like it, that in half an hour from landing we are in our transportation vehicle, guaranteed. We do not want to get stuck in the line, after waiting to Hedo for long months, we want to be there ASAP. Predicting the airports traffic is risky, due to delays, it can vary from what's scheduled. We got lucky once to have the service to whisk us by an unbelievable line snaking around the hallways. On departure we try to time our arrival app. 2 hours early, then spending probably half of that time to get a drink and a sandwich at Margaritaville and then we do some shopping. Never felt the wait boring or long.

We haven't used it at arrival Over the last few years, arrival has become quick and fast, we are usually out before the previous flight passengers have picked up their bags. Make sgood sense at departure, since the bus gets you three hours before departure with nothing to do.

Any Priority Pass holders try going through the fast Pass by using the card?

You can use Priority pass for departure, not Arrival. We use the automated machines for arrival.

On departure, or leaving, do you still need to line up to check in or can that be done through the Club. We lined up for ages
on our last trip when leaving. I would love to bypass this as well as Customs.
