Private because you get to the resort faster and don’t have to make all those stops along the way.

Definitely private!! We use Kingsley travel! Cab is waiting for us with drinks!!
We are going to go against-the-grain and say we prefer the Sun Holiday bus. The Sun Holiday bus is non-stop from the airport to Hedo. No stops at other resorts. No stops for breaks. You leave the airport, and the next stop is Hedo. And everyone on the bus is going to Hedo, which we enjoy. We have had to wait for the bus to leave, but never more than 30 minutes. So we sit at the bar and have a margarita while we wait. With an extra shot of tequila. And watch the tourists board their busses.
This is harder to explain, but we like the 'feeling' of the bus. Feels like Jamaica; hard but tolerable seating, slightly uncomfortable temperature, static filled reggae music, bouncing and weaving down the road, always a character driving, while looking at some of the most beautiful landscape in the world in anticipation of arriving to the Hedo driveway. It is a great way to travel.
We like private transfers in other cites. Trust me. I like to travel comfortably. But for us, the Sun Holiday bus feels more local, more right for Jamaica, but still efficient. Hope that makes sense.

Returning to HEDO October 16 through 26, 2019
We nearly always go private transport, no stops unless you want, nice car or van, cold beverages on the way and no stops. We have used Tim Air, Air Link, Rocky's and Clives, never had a problem with any of them.
We use Rockys awesom service even offers a a free red stripe on the way
We have not taken a private service, so don't know. We have weighed the costs and stay with Sun. When you get in everyone is quiet and by themselves. If you start a conversation, everyone joins in and you have made friends and even hooked up before you reach the resort. So it is a good appetizer. Don't like the wait - sometimes it can be 30 minutes. Don't understand people wanting to take a beer break 20 minutes before they reach the resort. One lady said, "I have paid for unlimited drinking for 7 days, why spend money 20 minutes before getting there." Made sense, and always makes sense. Some want a leak, and some want to pick up weed. We don't get out of the bus. Considering 35 bucks return, we'll keep this.

The last time we took Sun Holiday. Our flight from LAX arrived about 7am. The airport was empty. We still had to wait over 45 minutes and we were the only ones on the bus. I was NOT happy. It is back to Rocky's for us next time.

Linley Grant, wonderful guy.
I've used many cabs, Linley, loved him, Rocky, didn't go as well as I'd like, Dennis, Pepe, and Roger, pretty much liked them all.

H2 April 22th -30th 2022 thirteenth trip with the Bunch
The guests, the atmosphere and the freedom really can't be beat
We always take the JTL bus, it's $30 per person round trip (Sun Holiday is $50 last time I checked). Never had a bad experience with them. Sometimes there is a bit of wait to leave the airport, but that does not bother us.
15 years using Rocky's, never wait at the airport, always on time with cold beer or Ting. Comfy, air-conditioned, clean, private car with interesting stories from their drivers. Did the bus once, too uncomfortable for 1.5 hour ride, never again, plus no wait at the resort to check in. Trip take 1 to 1.5 hours depending on traffic .What's not to like?
If you do a private transfer make sure they are licensed as many cheaper ones are not. Should cost 140 return plus tip, if they are a lot less probably not licensed or insured.Have a great trip.
