    Here’s a dilemna for you!

What would you do? Some family of ours are looking now to plan their winter getaway. Since we loved “Sandals” so much that we went twice in three months, they’re looking at booking there 😳 there’s a possibility they may not, since they have children and aren’t sure if they’ll have childcare just yet.
I hate the thoughts of them spending their hard earned money because of how much we loved it there, when we really never stepped foot in the place! Even more, I can’t stand them coming back and saying “oh we were in this room or ate here or did this or whatever” and trying to keep up the rouse. The thought turns my stomach!
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation?

"We have a confession. While we told you we were visiting at Sandals Negrilwhen we vacationed in Negril, we actually stayed next door at a resort called Hedonism. We find that resort much more to our liking and the name and reputation is so poorly understood by those who never have been there, we decided to keep our vacation destination to ourselves so the discussion when we returned is about our vacation joys which shows from our glow and not where we choose to have it."

Such a realist answer. What else could be expected from the hedo crew!
I just don’t know if they would understand (she is quite religious and reserved) and when I recall what my concerns were before we went... one of the biggest concerns were of the people that would frequent a place like hedo. Now having been there, obviously any worries were unfounded but I clearly remember my hesitation because of that. So what would they think of us? Now we probably shouldn’t care... but they are family and I do care

Oh wow! Well....I have heard good things about Sandals from other people at work and such that have stayed there so I don't think they will be wasting their money. I was able to fake my way through the conversations about it.

The beaches are basically the same -- with vendors setting up huts and selling things, along with the random drug dealer coming by to sell things. I don't think they will waste their money and just a tiny bit of homework on forums and you can have a basic conversation about it. Like 'the boat tour was great!' or something like that. Or 'this restaurant is good'. Tell them you stayed on the beach most of the time.

Doesn’t it sound like a plot line for a bad sitcom! Haha. Well we never really talked about the facilities anyway, just that we loved the snorkeling twice daily and the beach was beautiful. But mostly we’ve said how nice it was to get away just the two of us and finally be able to relax. Not in a million years did I think they would go!! Or I would have kept my big mouth shut

Yeah that's a hard one, when we got back from our trip to "Sandals" earlier this year everyone kept asking how it was and if we would recommend it. We said absolutely of course and now actually have family coming down there overlapping with our next trip. They aren't staying at Sandals and haven't asked where we are staying they just know we aren't staying at their resort. We're going to try and meeting up for dinner somewhere in Negril one of the nights we overlap. We don't particularly care if they know we are staying at Hedo, but also aren't going to advertise it if they don't ask. Though I'm waiting for them to take a boat ride that goes by Hedo and they see our asses floating in the ocean, lol.

So I've heard good things about Sandals resorts, I'm sure your family will have a great time there and won't think it was a waste of time. That is a possibility, but that's a possibility with any place you recommend. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Instead pray for us that we're not walking down the Hedo beach nude one way and our family members are walking down the other, now that would be awkward, lol.

From trip reports on sites like TripAdvisor, you could get enough detail to carry on a very good conversation about Sandals, right down to the first name of "your" fav bartender and those oh so good special drinks he makes. As well, you can get photos of the resort from Google images.
Family are different than friends. If the relationship goes sideways because you told them of your real adventures, well, you will still be running into these folks at family social events, which may be awkward. Friends on the other hand, come and go.
We use the Sandals ploy also. Took lots of beach pictures at Sandals with us in them, then used Google Images and Tripadvisor to fill in with pictures of rooms, restaurants, etc., We have a really nice slide show, of a resort we have never been to. LOL
Life is too short for drama and petty things, so kiss slowly,
laugh insanely, fuck like you're the star of a porn film, and forgive quickly.

Moral of the story - keep your vacation to yourself. Facebook survey says that people really do not like other people's fun story - they ask out of curiosity and politeness.

All the time. Just go to the Sandals website and do a little homework. We have some friends booked for Sandals Negril this fall but know they would have a better time next door at Hedo. I want so bad to point them to Hedo but know they wouldn't be able to keep a secret. Hedo is just so misunderstood by those who haven't been there.

We tell everybody . Were grown people and who cares . We tell everybody and some people think we're nuts other people are jealous of us and other people cant believe it . Were in our mid 40s . We don't care. If your friends and family judge for taken a week of vacation to enjoy life and have an awesome week with your spouse than piss on them . We work hard , let's play hard and enjoy your vacation . Who. Cares what any body else cares . This is why we come to hedo because nobody judges you at all. When your back at home and daily lives were worried about what everybody is gonna say and judge you . We come to hedo to be naked and nobody judges us their

That’s exactly it.. not so much that I care if *they* know, but will they keep a secret? In our line of our work, it would be detrimental to our livelihood for clients to find out.
And yes, no one understands hedo. As much as I wanted to go (i saw it on a late night tv show many, many years ago) I still couldn’t really get it until we were there.

We have learned how to be very "non specific" about our vacations. If cornered for a recommendation, we tell people to do a web search and find the vacation destination that matches THEIR desires. Because, after all, "...no matter how much we liked Resort X, we could never take the responsibility to presume our satisfaction could transfer to you..." People usually understand that, and it ends there. The good "out" we have today is this new invention called the "Internet" that holds any and all information you need to make a decision.

    That is a great out!

I love the statement "Hedo is just so misunderstood by those who haven't been there", that's exactly the reason we tend not to advertise it. Most of our friends know we frequent the local clothing optional beach, but we don't tell them about our naked resort vacations. Most would go to the Hedo site and think it's a 24/7 sex fest and most of our friends don't tend to want to enhance their sex lives like we are always looking to do. We have actually told a couple of our friends, but that was only after they asked about Jamaica and were the first to mention they have looked into "a resort called Hedonism" for themselves. After that we typically confess and tell them all the great things about our trip. We think a couple of them are looking into it more seriously since they know someone who would be there. We've only told a couple of them, but it would have been nice to have at least one of them seemed surprised we went, lol.
