    Hedo catamaran cruise

    Morning everyone,

We will be at hedo in 28 days and the wife wants to do the catamaran cruise. Could anyone give us some advice as to the dress code? We don't want to feel out of place. Also what all happens on the cruise?

Wear anything you want or nothing at all. The cruises either go to an area with caves for snorkeling or to Rick's Cafe to watch the jumpers. As to waht happens on the cruise, it all depends on the crowd. Everything from drinking and having a good time to a small orgy.

    Joe and Ellen,

Do they provide drinks on the cruise? Would a swimsuit bottom for my wife and no top be a good choice? Do we need to bring cash for anything on the cruise? Thank you again!

$55 all inclusive...book at the tour desk. Drinks, Red stripe, rum punch and basic alcohol and mix available. Only time you will need cash is if you are on the Sunset cruise that goes to Ricks if you want a drink on shore...and a tip is appreciated by the crew on either the day snorkel/caves cruise or the sunset cruise. They give a discount on your second cruise if you want to do both....we always do the day snorkel/cliffs...and get on the boat with a towel...no need for clothes.

Yes they have drinks on the boat. Dress casual, something easy to take off. Most of the last cruise we were on everyone was naked about 15 minutes into the cruise. )
If you do the ricks café cruise you'll need money.

Is partaking in herbal refreshments frowned upon during the cruise? We tried that on our last trip to Jamaica at couples tower isle and had to put it out!

I have smoked on all of my catamaran cruises. Even blazed a lil with the crew. As long as you are mindful of where people are downdraft, you should be good to go..

It's all what YOU make of it. On a sunny day, the day trip is best. You can buy your ticket at the tour desk, but if the weather turns shitty, you can't get a refund. Buy on the beach, on the day, and you get to chose, Go, No Go.

As for what to wear. Least is best but a cover on a bright sunny day is a good idea if you burn. Sun screen is a must, whatever the weather -- unless you like having bits of skin burned and cut off.

Depending on the crowd, the cat can be a real party.

You might want to bring cash. There will be trinkets you can purchase on the boat and tips for the various people on the boat are appreciated. We bring a waterproof bag to store ID's, camera and cash. We put that inside our beach bag that holds our sunscreen, and swimsuits. We wear just a wrap, a hat and flip flops to board the boat. I pack a few salty snacks too. That is a long day without food, especially if you are drinking. The hat is a must if you don't want to fry!

We did the Tuesday morning cruise last month (Feb). Total blast. Yes, a hat is needed, plus some cash for some trinkets.

We opted for the Sunset Cruise on Thursday. It had been an overcast-ish day and we were wondering what the cruise would be like. It departs at 3pm or so. We wore beach wraps for about 15 min and then naked it was and 80% or more were naked half way in. The skies cleared as we cruised and it was a perfect temp - not blazing but a beautiful glow without the need to take shelter from the sun. We anchored near Ricks Cafe and 95% of the guest took small boats over - we stayed on the catamaran and enjoyed drinks, a swim, and lots of laughs. A few of us had the boat to ourselves with the crew. The ride back was a party, the sun setting, it was romantic and energized all at the same time. A great tour overall and our preference. We would do the sunset tour again for sure. There was some PDA and an overall party vibe.

Love the thursday cat ride for the vibe you're talking about. Assuming you arrived the prior saturday or so you have a good number of hedo days under your belt so you're definitely in the hedo groove and perhaps a little tired from the party craziness. Combine that with the sunset cruise back from Rick's and it is some of the peaceful, chill times I have had in my life. Just love it and cant wait to get back there

As of April 2018, they no longer allow anyone who isn’t a guest of the resort to go on the cat cruises.
