Would love to hear a trip report of the new resort. Curious to see if the atmosphere changes, hope not as this is one of our favorite places to be. Looking to go Feb 18' ourselves.
Is the construction on track to be finished on time? What is the reopening date?
Haven't heard however we were in Cancun back in February and it looked like they had a very long ways to go for a August opening. It didn't even look like all the demolition was complete at that point unless they are keeping some of the old buildings to remodel.
They are planning on opening in August with some amenities unavailable. It appears they are coming along on schedule but I wouldn't count on it being 100% complete until September or October.
Yes agreed, even if they do partially open in August it looks like you'd be vacationing in the middle of a huge construction site. Not very appealing.
