Alternatives to Hedo?

Hi Everyone!

We will probably get flamed for this, but here we go:

We are considering a return trip to H2 this June. Last one was June 2016. However, we are considering pursuing other options.

We realize so much of the "price" of Hedo goes towards the ambiance of Hedo. The facilities are refreshed, but not even remotely upscale. And as to our opinion of the dining options, we felt the food was just acceptable.

We have been to Couples Negril - but that was 1999. Couples San Souci? We want to avoid Cancun - prefer to stay in Jamaica (or other Eastern Carribean).

We like the nudity. Musts are a clothing optional pool and/or beach for us. We enjoy the fun atmosphere. We like to socialize. When we were at Couples Negril, we felt the place closed down at 9:00 PM. Must be all of the honeymooners.

We enjoy the sexiness of Hedo - dressing up for dinner, theme nights. Overt public sexual activity is NOT a must for us. Does that provide us with other options?

So we guess our question is this: has anyone felt the same as us about Hedo and tried somewhere else? Good or bad, we would like to hear it.

Our minds are not made up - we just want to make sure we are getting all of our hard-earned money's worth.

Couples San Souci has a good size nude hot tub and pool and the nude beach is fine for sun tanning but not so much for swimming. We were at Couples Negril recently and they had someone playing in the piano bar until 11 p.m. and entertainment in the Cassava Terrace until 10 p.m. most nights. Their nude tub is also open late but you'll have to bring your own drinks since the nude bar closed around 7 when we were there. Couples Tower Isle is probably the best for socializing on the au natural island but the pool is small and there's no hot tub.

There are a few clothing optional places on St Martin such as Club Orient, Club Fantastico, Naturist's Getaway, etc. There's a clothing optional beach at Club Orient and socializing won't be a problem but the guests tend to be older.

try going to bvi and rent a sailboat ( a cat) with four or six more of your close friends, be sure that the boat allows nudity when you inquire. like hedo, it's a bucket list thing for some and a very nice vacation, been twice and looking to book again next year.

Try Club Orient St Martin it's got the nicest beach in the Carribean all grounds and beach are clothing optional but about 99% are nude
Age depends on the week the island has fine dinning and lots of entertainment mostly off the resort
The Tiko Tiko does several nude cruises

We have been to Couples Sans Souci, Couples Tower Isle, Desires RM and Hedo. Not bragging just laying out the experiance. If you are just looking for nudity and some great people (but not expecting any kink) then I would recomend Couples Sans Souci. Everthing said above is true and the pools (cool and hot) are very social and fun. Food at Couples Tower Isle is the best, by far. The island is ok, but limiting. Hedo has the best sexy, by far, but fun can be had anywhere, if you keep your eyes open. None of these is a bad choice, go have fun.

Hotwife_n_Hubby - we are like you in that we enjoy the sexiness of Hedo, dressing up for dinner, and the theme nights. Also like you, the overt sexual activity is not a must for us either, although it can be fun and we do enjoy it and participate.

We realize that you pay for something at every resort you visit and when we go to Hedo, we are happy to pay for the ‘ambiance’ you mention…even if most of it is provided by the other guests. Totally worth it for us.

We are fortunate in that we have both Indonesia (Bali) and Thailand within a 90-minute flight. And I guarantee, there are no better 5-star values anywhere in the world. Both places are shockingly cheap. But you cannot be naked on the beach. And that special ‘ambiance’ is missing. We find that while sitting at our villa’s private pool looking at the mountain landscape down to the crystal blue waters and sandy beaches……we always end up talking about when we are going back to Hedo. Because Hedo is….fun.

So that I do not sound like a complete Hedo-homer, I will offer an alternative to Hedo. For us, it is South Beach Miami. Bear with me here.

You think South Beach is full of douchers and posers, and a bit of that is true. But mostly, SB is just regular people of all ages and races, on vacation, trying to step outside themselves for a week, and party on a beach. Sound familiar?

Last time we were there this guy who must had been 70 years old with long hair and a speedo swimsuit, came riding down the center of Ocean Drive on a skateboard. We love that kind of strangeness. And there is plenty of it.

Everyone dresses nice and sexy, albeit to varying degrees. But if you do push the limits of sexy dress, you are fine.

The beach is topless, but not everyone is topless, so it feels a bit naughty. The wife can wear a string bikini walking on the street, or while eating on the sidewalk. And the club scene in SB is fantastic; second to none. And again, the wife can wear whatever she wants to clubs, or on the night time street.

Miami’s variety and quality of food is among the best in the world.

Trapeze Swingers Club is up the road in Fort Lauderdale and totally worth a visit, or two. Busy every night of the week.

We stay at either Dream Hotel or The Delano. Dream’s rooms are nice, but small. Delano’s room rate is from the comedy store, but the hotel bar/night club is legendary. Both hotels allow the wife to be topless at the pool.

So, the accommodations are better than Hedo, food is better, it is a sexy place, beach, partying, sexy dressing, swinger clubs, service everywhere is outstanding.

Here is the downside…South Beach is expensive. It will make Hedo feel like great value for money. After the hotel, the rental car (get a convertible Mustang or Camaro….you are in South Beach after all), the food and drinks, and clubs, South Beach will be close to twice the cost per night. If you are staying at the Delano even more.

But we love it. South Beach is a laugh.

Lots of great info. David and Qian - we NEVER thought of South Beach. That was a very extensive write-up. Couples San Souci is on our short list. Not a huge fan of Cancun just because of the things we read about portions of Mexico.

Let's not forget about the new Grand Lido opening next door to Hedo. There are supposed to be nude/clothing optional areas there.

Don't worry about Mexico... it just makes for good headlines. If you're not scared of travelling in the US, you shouldn't be worried about travelling to a tourist area of Mexico.

Pick any Major American city and look at the murders, car jacking, home invasions, drug crimes... in some cases it doesn't even make headlines anymore. You wouldn't avoid LA, NY, or Miami because of the crime there would you?

Basically, 3500+ Swingers, 1 ship, 8 days!!!
They are the BEST!! ALL the luxury, ports, fun of the regular cruises. But everything is geared to the LS!! They bring in extra Entertainment, Guest Speakers, Seminars, Workshops, HUGE Main playroom, Themed Play rooms, Dungeon, Theme nights, etc. etc. etc. And best part.................. NO KIDS!!!!!
You can be naked on deck when not in port. Most everyone is in a GREAT mood, lots of partying, dancing, etc. Even the Cruise Directors taylor the pool games and other lounge games to the LS!!
LOTS of sexy dresses at dinner, and most everyone participates in the theme nights.

We would be on the Grand Lido beach thinking, it sounds much more fun next door. If we're going to Jamaica, we're going to Hedo.
