Red and black bugs on the beach

Every time we have been at H2 under the tree at the beach we find these little red and black bugs with longish snouts. Are there any bug experts out there who know what they are? Do they ever bite?

we have never seem them. we stay away from the trees on the beach. we don't spend much time on the beach at all due to the sand fleas.

no expert here other than being a bug magnet. During our first trips we would also camp under the tree but those little red ones drove us out. They do bite, and leave welps! when they do. I tried sprays and wipes but they still got me, during the past several trips we just avoid that tree and find chairs with and umbrella, and have had no bug issues there

They have cut the big tree back quite a bit. We missed the shade but managed to snag an umbrella. I did some research and found an article about a "kissing bug". The photos looked a bit like the bugs that we saw under the tree. Apparently certain species can give you something called Chagas' disease. If you think you have been bitten by one (even in the distant past), you might want to get a blood test. I hope that I am just being paranoid.
