What's the deal with taking pictures? Is there anywhere that we CAN? We love photos from our trips, but it seems we will be limited since we plan to be on the nude side primarily.

Take your pictures on the "prude" clothing optional side. Early in the morning is usually the best time.

We have taken a lot of pics on our trips...yes you can do it....even on the nudes side (most of us are at sunset on the point)
A couple things to keep in mind,
1. Do not be sneaky about taking a pic, make sure that others around you know you have a camera and will be taking a pic.
2. Look at your background, make sure other people will not accidentally be in your shot. Besides sunsets, most of our pics on the nude side have had the rock wall as a background.
3. If taking a pic of others make sure they give you permission.
4. As for theme night parties, we have taken lots of pics...or had others take pics of us. Do not take pics of the crowd or people on stage (with the exception of the show...staff is ok, guests are a no go)
5. The best idea is to leave the camera in the room most of the time, we do take pics every year but, it is usually a "photo shoot" on the prude side with the ocean in the background.
6. At dinner, we have brought our camera to take pics of each other, friends, harrysans, etc....everybody that is in our photos know they are in it.
7. If anybody ever asks you about what you took a picture of, show them....they may be worried that they are in the shot....if you are careful and respectful, they will not be so you have nothing to worry about.
On a side note, we have see cameras thrown in the ocean a number of times, we also saw one that was thrown on the roof of point village (resort next door). All these happened when people were taking pics of random people and got caught by other guests. We also know of one person who was kicked out for taking pictures from his room.
Walking up the beach through Sandals is also a good place to take pictures, especially if your visit to Hedo is covert.
Popped our cherry with Kitten and Angel's group, April 2015.
Returned again with Kitten and Angel's group from April 8th to the 17th, 2016.
Hoping to go again with K&A in 2017 (Let's just say I hope the new furnace doesn't cost too much. Who needs heat anyway?) Crossing our fingers.
I prefer if people left their cameras in their room to make it easy.
I know the majority of people are respectful and very careful about what they take pictures of or what they post online... but there are lots of idiots out there... and I don't want to interview everyone with a camera to find out which one they are.
Even pictures on the prude side can be a problem. Last year I caught a guy who took a photo with me in it by one of the theme night activities and I approached him. I asked him if I was in the photo he had just taken... he showed me the photo and I was clearly in the photo. As he showed me the photo he explained that he would never tell anyone where the photo was taken but he wasn't asking me if it was ok. I politely asked him to delete the photo, which he did, but he seemed annoyed and he didn't quite respect my (or others') right not to be in his photos... even if we had clothes on. Like I said, plenty of idiots out there. I'm sure he would have posted it on Facebook is I hadn't gotten him to delete it (or at least I imagine it that way).
By all means, bring your camera. There are plenty of good places/times to take pictures where no one will be bothered. The guidance provided by toohorny is pretty good. Leave it in your room most of the time please.
Just remember that what you think is ok is different than what others may think is ok... put yourself in the mind of an ultra conservative guest who is paranoid about anyone holding a camera. That guest is the one you should consider when deciding whether or not to pull out your camera.

We've taken lots of photo's in the past, but these days there seems to be less tolerance of camera's. Probably because they can easily be posted on line for all the world to see.
That being said, there are plenty of great photo op shots around the resort. There are multiple small pools, usually empty of guests, there are secluded hot tubs, there is even a bamboo "Forest" with trails, that is seldom used.
For beach shots with people in the background, go for a walk down the beach and do a photo shot in front of one of the other resorts (it is a beautiful beach).
We've done early morning shots on the nude side around 7am, when it's been totally deserted
Some groups allow photo's within the group. One group we are with actually produces a DVD of the weeks events, although I think that too is going the way of the Dodo.
Follow "Tohorny's" advice and you won't have issues, and if you need a volunteer to take pictures you'll find lots of folks willing, just use YOUR camera.
OBTW, simply deleting a photo from a memory card, doesn't mean it can't be recovered using free software from the internet.

the hardest part these days is camera are phones and all the pics go to the clouds. you know the ones that holds all your pics... so even if you take the phone(camera) and toss it in the ocean the pics that was taken is already gone to the cloud and when they are back in their rooms or at home they can just go in and get the pics from the cloud.. we have taken alot of pics at hedo but we do it early in the am when theres hardly anyone on the prude beach or out on the hedo wall....

This is probably the only time I've ever been happy about ridiculously high cellular roaming charges. I would think that most people who know what the cloud is would turn off their roaming data at Hedo so they don't get $1000 phone bills. With the roaming data off, the photos don't go to the cloud... until you find wifi that is.

we see your point but the resort has free wifi though out the resort now so i guess turning off your data don't count anymore.

I would love to think this is bad... but I have a hard time arguing against free wifi.
I guess it's back to the old tactics... keep an eye out for idiots who are trying to snap photos where they shouldn't and set them straight.

Right you are Zork. (here's the link to your quote: "http://www.hedonism.com/what-is-hedonism/hedonism-resort-faqs/" scroll down a bit). This rule appeared after our last visit in April 2016, I had posted it elsewhere on this forum, then totally forgot about it.
So the next question is; are they enforcing this rule ?
For those that want quality pictures, Hedo does have a pro photographer available.
Another question would be: Drones, over the resort and beach, what is Hedo's policy on that. Never mind that they are close to an Airport. I've seen Drone footage from that new resort they are building right next door.
