Going Off Grounds

So the 1st 2 H2 visits we planned to leave the grounds but for whatever reason, never got around to it. This Hedoween, we are once again determined and feel we have a good shot.

If we wanted 1 great, awesome off site dinner, where should we go? We don't want to travel more than 20 minutes +- if possible.

We might want to make a stop at Jenny's or Tedd's. Are they near each other? Is Tedd's still open?

Since we're going to do the cat trip to Rick's, we probably have that covered unless we need to go for sunset by cab if it's worth it. I know the drinks are absurdly overpriced so...do we need/want to make a special trip there?

Any other suggestions are of course appreciated!

I would suggest Ivan's at the Catch a Falling Star hotel. It is right beside Rick's, awesome views, very beautiful setting, great food and reasonable pricing. It is a must for us on one night each trip.

We really like Xtabi, they have wonderful food and a gorgeous view. They also have caves below that you can explore that are awesome.

Xtabi or restaurant at Samsara on the cliffs for a bite and views, if you want Jerk try 3 Dives on the Cliffs, it is real good as they cook it on the Pimento wood not a gas grill so authentic and nicely spicey! , Ted's Teas is before the cliffs and before Jenny's , it was open a little over a year ago . Jenny's you can get tea or dried variety and of course cakes, maybe the same at Ted's but only ever saw Tea. Have fun , we are there next month and hope to do all of the above!

We agree !! we were there last April for one night on our anniversary & had the 100 candle dinner just after sunset. They set up one table away from the main eating area complete with candles all around & on the walkway to the table, very romantic for a special occasion dinner !!! would highly recommend it !!!

As an alternative to Rick's for sunsrt we went to Sir D's Love Nest, it is on the cliffs just past Rick's. The view is great and is less expensive than Rick's and no crowds. Recommend trying their "High Punch"!

Let us know if you and A are interested in joining us. I'm sure there's a good live reggae dance bar/club in Negril. Our driver (Ashton Pitt) will know where for sure, direct us right and provide safe transport both directions. Probably won't be difficult to add another 2 or 3 couples who'd like to go too.

Just not on foam, Halloween or Anniversary night.

Catcha is fantastic and the views are great, we love the Jerk Chicken from Best in The West across from Rooms, Kyuba and Xtabi are both fine restaurants. Ricks and Margaretiville are hmmm...tourist traps

It is fun watching the divers from Ricks!

I have never been, but there is a place called Bourbon Beach that always seems to have Reggae Music there. If anyone has any information on it, it would be great to know. They have a Facebook page to look up info but I am not sure how it is, how safe it is, etc.

We've been to Bourbon Beach and had a great time. They have live music on the beach on Monday, Thursday and Saturdays. It is safe but just be aware that you will be approached to buy drugs and all the other usual hustles just like anywhere in Jamaica. Just keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. Another great place for reggae is Alfred's, it's also on the beach and has live music on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday's. Both places are a $10 cab ride from Hedo.
