Firts visit in 1 month, worried, is hedo for us?

Hi,
after a couple of years of hesitation, we finally booked our first trip to hedo.
but now that the trip is coming soon, we are a bit worried if we did the right choice.
we usually travell in luxurious resorts with good food and nice rooms ( we booked the premium room for that reason)
we are not swingers and are not sure if we will take advantage of the nude pools and beach, probably stay on the prude side....
but we like the fact that we can be naked on our balcony and have sex without having to hide.
we like to dress nicely to go dinner and love good entertainement at night.
we are a young maried couple, 27 and 34, we dont mind being with older peolple, but would like to have some younger couples to hang out with too.


we have been to jamaica once before, in montego bay, but loved our excursion to negril so thats why we decided to give hedo a try.

so, do you guys think we made the good choice?

Yup! You'll find that age is just a number at Hedonism. You will meet so many great people! And you can do as you please.
It's not luxurious, but if you go in knowing that, and all the great things that balance that, you'll be fine

We think everyone should try Hedo at least once - and those who do usually go back. Like Phillygirl22 said, don't expect 5-star luxury, but you'll find 6-star fun if you are open to it. Age is a number and physical attributes are unimportant at Hedo. I'll wager that if you try the nude side, you'll be hooked and will not spend another minute at the prude side except to sleep! Go and enjoy!

I think the answer to your question is really going to be dependent on your expectations going in. We've been to lots of 5/6 star resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. If you are looking for the physical plant (both room and common areas) and dining to compare to a Secrets, Excellence, etc. then you will likely be disappointed. Hedo isn't going to compete very well based on those metrics. However, the atmosphere of laid-back, friendly people (not even factoring in any playing) can not be found anywhere else. On top of that, there is an incredible sexy vibe at Hedo that can't be found anywhere else. We went on a day pass when we were in our late 20's, and we were younger than most, but it didn't stop us from having a great time. If you go into this knowing that it should be an incredibly fun week, but that the accommodations are probably 3 star- you will love it. There is a reason why so many people (us now included) go back year after year. The regular resorts that are beautiful and fun (just not near as much fun) we've never really felt the urge to consistently return. I don't think that is sheer coincidence.

The two of you will be on the young side...but that should not be a problem. Even though you have booked a "Premium" room, it might not be what you are used to if you are used to "luxurious" resorts. If you do not spend time on the nude side you will be missing out on what Hedo is all about. No problem with not being "swingers" but be prepared to get caught up in the moment (that is how most couples get started). The food will not disapoint you either. All in all, go with an open mind and you will have a great time!

Congratulations on your first trip to Hedo.

As most people have said... the resort isn't luxurious, but the atmosphere makes up for it. Most people (including myself) don't want to go anywhere else after experiencing Hedo... even though there are nicer resorts around... for less money.

Age range changes week to week depending on who booked that week, but as one of the few younger couples there, most of the other young couples will gravitate towards you and strike up conversation... which is good. The older people there don't act there age anyway.

The party and fun is on the nude side... so don't limit yourself to the prude side. The prude side is a great place to go and get some quiet time or recover. Don't worry about the swingers... be flattered by any advances you get. No one in the lifestyle wants to be the creepy swinger pushing the newbies into doing something their not comfortable with. Its not some sex free for all!

Don't sell youself short by staying on the prude side, the life of the resort is on the nude side. People don't come to this resort year after year for the food and accommodation, although both have improved greatly in the last few years, it's for the friends and the social activity. The resort does have top shelf liquor at most of the bars and even a special wine bar with better quality wines. There is also a specilty coffee bar and a semi formal dining restuarant (no shorts or t-shirts allowed). In the evenings you can dress up, or down (way down), in costumes or not. There is a toga night which you may find fun.

All great advice above. If you do nothing else but enjoy the waters, the pools, the food and drinks, then the people will be a bonus as no hassle/no drama rules....

Hedo is what you make it. It is NOT luxurious. The rooms are pretty basic (disclaimer - we save money by staying in the cheapest room so I can't speak to the "premium" room). But, I've stayed on some "luxury" properties and Hedo isn't one of them. That being said, it's clean and decent. The food can be good to really good. It's not spectacular but it's good and, if you go hungry, it's your fault.

I find the real joy in Hedo to be the freedom it represents. You can be naked almost anywhere on property and people don't bat an eye. I would encourage you to try the nude side on your first day for AT LEAST an honest hour. I think after 30 minutes, you will be hooked and won't look back. We aren't swingers. At. All. That being said, we enjoy enjoying each other in various places and don't mind if people enjoy each other either.

If you go there with the expectations that this is going to be a time spent in the lap of luxury with the finest in accommodations and food, you'll be disappointed. But, if you go there with the expectation that you will have a decent place to stay with decent food and all the freedom you want, then you'll enjoy it. Look for the good, ignore the "bad" and you'll have a good time and be glad you went.

A lot of us had those same concerns. I highly recommend heading to the nude pool with a towel on and drop it somewhere and get right in and head to the swim up bar. Once you are covered in water you feel less naked. Please don't wait until the last day and miss all the fun. People are very respectful and may ask if you are in the lifestyle, just be honest and say no. Most will still party with you anyway. And yes, there will be couples there your age, no worries. You are about to have the best vacation ever!!!

He Frank, it will be our first time there also. we are 25 and 26. we will be there on the weekend of the 9 and 10. when are you arriving?

Frank, the vast majority of the folks you'll meet are indeed as nice as those posting above. This is the unique thing we've found there... the clientele is much more friendly and social than anyplace else we've been. That's what's kept us coming back a few dozen times.
