A/C Issues please

A very liable sources gave us some not good news about the AC having major issues sinces late May can you please advice what percentage of the rooms have been fixed or when are all the rooms will be completed.

We been with out AC on a previous vacation and its a horrible experience in humid conditions any information you can please provide

We just returned and can say that the AC issues still exist. The AC in our room was barely functioning. Another couple was furious that it wasn't being addressed in their room and we suggested they try to take our room since they were staying longer than us when we checked out on Monday.

The Pastafari was somewhat cool on Saturday then is it was pretty hot and unbearable on Sunday. We couldn't get out of there soon enough after our dinner. But we will say that the steak we had both nights was excellent.

As much as we enjoyed Hedo with the exception for the Erotic Explosion group (another story), we will not return until they resolve the AC issues.

These a/c issues have been brewing for a few years and it seems like it is finally getting to a head. We are 10 year vets and have the mechanicals of the resort declining steadily. While we love and appreciate the improvements that have happened the last 3 years it is disheartening to see that no investment has been made for the mechanicals. In my opinion no one in their right mind would totally remodel a 50 year old house without updating the HVAC, plumbing and electrical FIRST. Superclubs let the mechanicals go downhill and it seems the new owner has stuck his head in the sand hoping for a miracle outcome. We have been at the resort twice in the last 12 months and everything was perfect except the mechanicals. Both times there was no a/c in much of the resort, both sides included. We were fortunate that both times the resort was not at full capacity and we were able to move to a room that had good cooling, but what a pain in the ass it was for us to have to pack everything to a different room. We totally understand that things happen and breakdowns occur but it is getting out of hand at Hedo. We don't require much when we are vacationing but we DO require warm water to shower with and a cool room to sleep in. We were last there the 1st week of May and Harry said at the repeaters party that all renovations were on hold until the HVAC situation was remedied. Sounds like they haven't made much headway. For what it is worth my advise is to not book Hedo when it is near capacity. If you get a dud room there is no where to move to.

Do the premium rooms have their own unit? We were there last Oct and had no air. We upgraded for this year hoping the premium rooms have better AC

We were told mid May (by a reliable source) , that the Nude side (and premium rooms) would be getting individual AC units for each room, this summer (2016). That would reduce the demand on the centralized AC, that now services the entire resort, to the point where it could function normally to keep the prude side rooms cool. Last April we were comp'd a free night because they couldn't get the AC under 72 degrees in our room.

We don't have a issue single males but when they reply to us trying to hook up when we are asking about AC it's a complete turn off. Advice don't try so hard.

We were on the nude side ocean view and did not have our own unit as of this Monday and it didn't appear that any were being upgraded while we were there. The only thing we saw were many fans being delivered each day. The fans looked barely capable of moving much air. They were the tower type that look more like a fan/heater combo. Good luck on your room.

This guy is hilarious..... We received a private message from him saying he lives in Jamaica just down the road from Hedo... We politely told him this wasn't a trolling or dating site, to carry on ... It looks like he can't take the hint... This is what gives some single guys a bad rap....

I know someone who is NOT going to go back to Hedo until the rooms have a MODERN individual a/c unit.There have been rumors,speculation,and advice concerning mold issues in the a/c units.I believe every word of what I have heard and,no,I am not going to pack Lysol and fly it to a foreign country to spray it all over an a/c unit for mold that should be handled on site by competent personnel with a scheduled maintenance program.

Management scoured the island and were able to get 100 individual AC units that were due to arrive today. They are the same size as the units that are already installed that work off the central chillers. Once on site, they will be removing old units and installing new ones. This will take some of the strain off the chillers as they are awaiting parts to repair one that is failing.

That is good to hear, but it really makes me question why they are now finally addressing the problem somewhat. It is not like this happened overnight.

Thanks Joe - I received the same info in my email today from a very reliable source. The owners had originally ordered the units from a supplier in China, but the supplier pushed back the delivery date...which wouldn't have been a problem if the chiller hadn't started to fail... So the owners & management found those 100 brand new Panasonic units you are referring to & have said once they arrive on site today, installation will be very quick.

We arrive in 9 days & based on the above report - I'm not worried. I imagine they will work around the clock, if necessary, to have everything repaired by this Saturday (the 9th - since it's a big arrival day).

we have had the same.... we even went as far as to tell him to meet us at hedo seeing how hes so close to there but we would have to buy him a pass.... we laughed at him saying if he wanted to go to hedo he would have to get his own pass.... never heard from him again....
