The incident regarding the Canadian tourist occurred in the Cliffs area as the three were walking back from dinner at Xtabi to their resort along the West End road.
Not sure if he's plugged into this forum, but he's a 50+ trip H2 veteran.

With regards to police focusing on illegal motorcycles, it's likely also a shakedown tactic. A lot of Jamaicans depend on their bikes, and if police are cracking down on owners and confiscating motorcycles, they will be much more likely to cooperate and tell police what they know about the shootings to take the pressure off them and have police refocus on catching the real criminals. Police in Jamaica don't seem to get a lot of cooperation from potential witnesses in certain areas/segments of the population, so it's cooperate and help us out, or we are going to make your lives difficult. Once someone speaks up, and the shooter is caught, I suspect the emphasis on illegal motorcycles will disappear.

Good point but I wonder what that would be in real terms versus average annual disposable income etc?I hope someone who knows who these people are will drop a dime and call the authorities to take them into custody.
