*stripes*

Hi...
While browsing some of these forums, I have seen the words *stripes* and meat Pies mentioned, does anyone know what they are refering to? Call me Nieve....LOL

Honestly, Pies I'm not sure.

Stripes are Red Stripes, the beer of Jamaica.

The meat pies are what they call paties. You can find either chicken or beef. Basically its a spicy meat filling in a pastry like crust. Not sure what all is in there for spices but you can taste curry pretty easy.

And yes the stripes they refer to are Red Stripe beers. Red Stripe has a light beer in bottles that is better if you're used to a lighter beer like Bud Light.

Thanks for the information on the stripes and meat pies. We are staying at a Resort so we will not have to worry about what we drink since it is all free,,,,LOL

In michigan we call those pasties (meat pies).

Used to live in Michagan myself. The patties in Jamaica are spicier than those I remember from Michigan. More of an Indian flavor while the Michigan ones were I think a Polish dish with potatoes.

Damn I wish I had one of those with a nice cold Red Stripe right now!
