No doubt our system is broken, but I've heard 1st hand accounts re: Canadian Healthcare not being anywhere close to what you experienced. So, like all things, everyone's experience may vary!

I will agree with that. I just hate the fact someone is making a lot of money off me being sick. I'm not talking Dr's and Nurses.
Absolutely agree. (Although I have priced independent plans nowhere near what you are paying! Yikes! )
I would also appreciate full coverage, including holistic care, specifically routine chiropractic care!
Thanks to Obamacare our premiums went from $560 a month to $1448. For less coverage. The other argument is the higher taxes. Not true. By the time you pay your state and fed, then your insurance and copay you're paying more here. At least that is what our experience has been.
I totally agree it costs more, but our country just isn't there yet. The ACA definitely had a different impact on everyone. I was finally able to purchase insurance, at any price. And now I'm exploring their plans, they are on part with what my employer offered. So....to each their own. But seriously, that's way more than I've heard from anyone. I hope you worked with a professional to understand your options
We did have a professional review our options. Because we switched plans right before the start of ACA, we weren't grandfathered in by 34 days. We are in the income range where it really hurts. I'm for the ACA in theory. We're in that group that really gets screwed, self employed and a moderate income.
