    Mosquito watch

Just a reminder to all our naked friends to be careful and protect yourselves from the Zika mosquito, this one feeds during the day unlike most mosquitos. All that beautiful naked skin running around the beach just wanted to give a heads up....................

I went Googling and learned from the attached that the little buggars like your feet the best and they like to feed on you mid-morning and early evening. The article includes a list of various repellents including some of the more natural kind. Also,I heard somewhere today that Deet can cause seizures.I have spent lots of time in the Everglades in the past as well as locally.Deet always went on my clothing instead of skin after I noticed how it eats up anything plastic or leather, spandex etc.It wont bother wool, cotton,or nylon clothing.Picaridin is good but I plan on using some Cutter Lemon Eucalyptus. Also,Victoria Secret makes a perfume they hate. It's all in the link. That said I can't remember encountering a mosquito but about once at Hedo. They have a good control program.

CDC also said to coverup as much as possible, this could be problematic at this resort. Also be aware that DEET is not for internal consumption. So think about the blow jobs and the body shots.
That being said, I don't think I've ever seen more than one or two mosquitos on any given trip. Now those damn pests called sand fleas are another issue.

The sand fleas aren't an issue for us, our Dr told us to take B12 a couple weeks before going up until and you'll be fine... Have never been bit by a sand flea yet....

oh frig 2 years ago was on the beach at sunset taking pics of the mrs and oh my god did I get devoured by the damned sand fleas. Had about 40 bites from my feet to my knees, didn't know that I was being munched on until the following night when I couldn't sleep, nor for the next two nights because they itched sooo badly. Only thing that soothed it was being in the pool They welts lasted well after I got home. Was actually really worried. Oops sorry to hijack the mosquito thread

This makes so much sense! I had so many bites on me for weeks after our August 2015 trip. I originally thought they were mosquito bites but I bet they were the damn sand fleas!

Jamaica IS on the CDC list. It was added over a week ago.
