we tried it once but was a long walk for my wife. She has MS and cant walk that distance. We are you guy from>> we are in North NJ and we are also on SLS

That long walk is a bitch, but its the closest thing we found to a Hedo beach in the summer, lol.

We are in East Central CT. Sandy Hook is about 3+ hour drive for us but last year we made the trip 4 or 5 times for weekend stays.
